because if an item sells for more than its value, people say it raises
but if sales raise items, they HAVE TO lower items as well. if an item is selling under its value, and it sells for that, its value would have to lower.
you cant have one without the other.
and dont give me the "well, if it sells for 15% under its value, its value still raises!11"
people have given me percentages and all of them are terrible
of course, i believe that sales dont directly affect the value of an item, but it can influence traders to trade more for that item. that means that the trades are increasing the value of that limited directly, and the sale on the item is pretty much getting those good trades
main point, i dont believe sales directly raise an item.
do you agree, disagree, etc?
do you think sales raise an item and also lower it?
kinda interested on what you guys think...

well i mean i think when an item sells, it gains hype, more people want it than prior, people offer and the offers progressively get higher

also, to clarify
i dont believe sales or RAP directly have an effect on an item
an item's value doesnt have to be above its RAP. a sale on an item that's higher than it's value doesn't raise an item, but it also doesn't lower it
for instance, when something gets LPP'd, the value doesn't go down with it directly.
the value goes down when the owners look at the LPP and think the item is lowering so they trade it off for lowball prices.

"well i mean i think when an item sells, it gains hype, more people want it than prior, people offer and the offers progressively get higher "
yes that's what im saying. sales don't raise an item, but they inspire people to make good offers because those people may want to sell the item or have the satifaction of having an item that sells often.
so the offers are the thing that raises an item directly
the sales kinda do it indirectly

actually not similiar, are you saying that the item can only raise after multiple good sells but not after 1 sell?

The value isn't going to immensely raise after one good sale. Items can go from selling for 300 to 50,000 because someone projects it...doesn't mean the value raises. Only makes it worse of an item.
But let's say something is consistently selling at 70k, then magically raises and sells for 100k+. It would definitely make it more hypes and raise the value

so the sales aren't raising the value, the sales are creating hype for the item, so it gets better offers.
i'm saying the offers are raising the item. the sales themselves arent directly raising the item. the offers from the hype are.

Yes that too. The more something sells, the more people usually want it. Once there's more demand for it, people start offering more. The more they offer, they more compete with others, and as a result of that, the value raises.
