Hello, I've been stuck dealing with Data Stores for like 4 months now. YouTube tutorials are pretty much useless on this subject and the ROBLOX Wiki contains like 50 different pages of different Data Store definitions that mean the same thing in the end. It would be nice if they chose the easiest methods for players to use rather than throwing piles of confusing pages that mean the same thing but are all complicating. No wonder everyone comes to me asking how I got into scripting, they can't read the Wiki cause it puts them off!
-- QUESTIONS -- 1. Does a Data Store ONLY hold ONE value?? 2. Does the average game on ROBLOX use multiple data stores on one game?
(I say this because I've tried scripting it more than 10 d##f#########s#### it might work once or not at all!)
I'm just tired of all this cause in the end, it's only demotivating everyone! 4~5 months is going too far with this, having pages open on my phone and bookmarked on my PC of ROBLOX Data Stores, having not found a proper method...
I basically just need the two questions answered.
I need to stop now.

Well, for question two, do you or anyone else you might know?
Anyways I think I'm gonna end up using 20 Data Stores on one game cause I'm done at this point! The data store never saves the values right and then when I rejoin, the tables are all messed up and we have number and string and nil problems.
Thanks anyways.

Could you link the page please?
I can understand the majority of it, but for those who can't... I've also seen way more efficient ways of doing the scripts they have on there, so I don't understand that anymore.
Anyways, I'm trying a new method here so...

OP is right, the wiki implies that data stores can only hold one value They use very specific names such as PlayerExperience and don't have an example of saving multiple values in a table
On a side note, rocrap just added recaptcha to the forums |

Ehh well there's worse things going on right now and... well we just need to calm down maybe. Maybe I'm over reacting about too many things. Maybe it's all just a dream, MAYBE, MAYBE...
Sodaghost13 will turn it all around!

"UpdateAsync is used to change a stored value in a data store. Unlike IncrementAsync, UpdateAsync can be used to change any type of value (such as strings or tables). " "tables" "For example, suppose a RPG was saving a player’s data as a table with several fields. The size of the stored table could be checked with the above JSONEncode function" "player's data as a table"

| Re-read the wiki, and just think of it as a USB in some ways. |

I managed to get it all fixed, the game is working fine. Just needs lots more to be built and a few things on a UI!

Thanks to everyone anyways :)
