So...You probably got lots of people saying this but may I ask are you ever going to support chrome, because I have a chrome book and I would REALLY love if you could some ow support them or they support you I'm sure lots of people have chrome books or products so it would really help us out a lot if you could just support chrome. I also think that many more people would play if you DID support chrome considering not many people have HP or P.C any more because its not 1990 anymore. But if you could please please discuss this amongst yourselves and tell us when you are doing this it would be great. P.S- Could hurry this up please its 2017 and you have been up since 2006 and I'm losing interest since I can't always play on my moms work computer and I LOVE Roblox so much it would mean a lot. Thanks :) Sincerely - Small_italianGirl |

Porting ROBLOX onto a chromebook is impossible since a chromebook is a professional computer, and gaming on it isn't just possible yet.
Infact, why did you make the stupid descision to get a chromebook, and if it's your school's, use a PC or tablet, buddy |

The Roblox platform is not compatible with Chrome OS as it is Linux based.
It's impossible for Roblox to convert to Linux as that would mean new updates for the whole website and play experience. |

^ it's not impossible lol you have no idea what you're talking about right now they just don't bother with making linux roblox because it isn't worth it because there aren't many roblox users that use it |

I'm saying in the programs current state "that would mean new updates for the whole website and play experience."

All of yall need to google some stuff more before posting.
Chromebooks are Linux based. There are a few issues with getting roblox on the Linux platform.
One being that roblox would need to change API to either OpenGL or Vulkan. OpenGL would be easier but im 100% sure they would try and build off an old version of roblox (when it used to be OpenGL) and it would never work right. If they went Vulkan they have to work with terrible Vulkan support on Linux.
Two is the large variety of specific operating systems on the Linux Kernel. They could probably release some of the important ones, like deb, rpm, apk, and maybe a few others just to cover most of the bases. Then comes issues with keeping compatibility with a large amount of package repositories. If they wanted it to be easy for Roblox's main age demographic, they would need to do a lot of work. The alternative is manual installs, things like tarballs, which if we're brutally honest are way above the average roblox user.
Then comes ChromeOS on its own, its not a very standard linux distribution, it does not have a "software repository" or a package manager, it would have to be done via manual install or via a Chrome application, which would be hard because all of the Chrome webstore applications are technically done in browser windows, and roblox couldnt function like that. And yes i know "but some open their own apps", its still running in a browser window, its just masked, check htop to see how those programs are running sometime. It would have to be a standalone application which wont be easy on ChromeOS.
Chromebooks by all means have the specs to run Roblox, it would run just fine and dandy, the problem with them on a hardware level is different architectures. There are some x86 chromebooks and some ARM chromebooks, theres also Rocketchip which involves DSP which is incredibly hard to work with.
Also id like to quote: "not many people have HP or P.C any more because its not 1990 anymore" HP is a brand, just gonna cut that there. Plenty of people still own PC's, whether that be Desktop, laptop or intel based Tablets. No chromebook offers hardware specs like a PC can. And dont bring me the Pixel and call that a proper laptop.
Roblox likely isnt going to do a Linux version any time soon because of two simple reasons: -Very robloxians using Linux -Difficult to port to Linux |

The_Skunk, last time I looked at the avaliable GraphicsMode options in Studio's settings, OpenGL and Vulkan are supported, especialy OpenGL which has been supported by ROBLOX since before 2009. The Vulkan GraphicsMode is a recent addition to that list.
In fact, API:Enum/GraphicsMode on the wiki lists them all.
The lack of a Linux port is because of the Linux userbase that wants ROBLOX on their Linux devices is insignificant in that it isn't very profitable to port that this time. I believe also it was because ROBLOX used to work on Whine, which lets you run Windows programs on Linux. Nowadays I believe that ROBLOX doesn't work on it any more.
"Two is the large variety of specific operating systems on the Linux Kernel. Some software that I have seen available for Linux provide their source code as well as instructions on how to compile the program. "apk" That's Android. Linux related, yeah, but not relevant. :P |

My bad, thats my phone autocorrecting AUR APK however is also used by Alpine, which is fairly popular due its small size
apk would be nice to run roblox on more broken into versions of android, or the weird hybrids on things like the google pixel c |

Actually, you can own your own chrome book, I do after I broke my other computer on accident. -.- I don't care if you hate on me, but It is the future buddy, they can make ROBLOX able to work on a chrome book, you just don't believe that.
Go ahead and hate I don't give a care in the world. I am a human being like you and I have better things to do then to get hate from you. <3 sweetylovekiss2435 |

My school uses the old Windows XP, but they block ROBLOX. Luckily the Chrome web store has an app to unblock it.

| It doesnt take any "hacking", you flash the bios with Seabios and install Windows on it instead. Its just kind of a pain to do that and ChromeOS runs way better anyway. |
