| It's a very tricky process involving tweezers and a large amount of time spent plucking the little sins off the skin of your soul. My advice to you would be that it's not worth the trouble. After a while, you won't even notice that they're there! |

"Also try going to confession" Don't listen to this shill, those supposed Confession™ lotions don't work worth a damn. I tried some and I swear that it made them multiply even faster. Didn't do anything for itching/burning either! |

confession is not biblical.
personally pray to God for forgiveness and your sins will be cleansed from you. |

Look, OP. Imma get real with you for a second. I'm not trying to start a flamewar or anything, but just asking for forgiveness and pretending that you are suddenly a better person for it infuriates me. Try doing good deeds. Then you can assuage your guilty conscience and benefit other people. It's what any good person does. |

| As for your sins: you can't change the past. You just have to move forward and try to do better in the future. |

hey, dude, i totally understand why you would think this way, but im gonna have to respectfully tell u ur wrong. doing good deeds will not absolve you of your sins. we are commanded to pray for forgiveness, and it is written that when we do that genuinely, we will be forgiven and cleansed of that sin. while doing good deeds are great, they do not remove sin. and uh, neither praying for forgiveness nor doing good deeds will make you a better person. idk where u got that from. |

I've heard it told that by earnestly seeking God out and having their sins "forgiven", that a person becomes more inclined to do good deeds. Good deeds are the only thing that I can be bothered to care about, frankly. No matter what your book says, I will not succumb to the immeasurable folly that is "feeling better about myself because I love Christ means all the damage I've done disappears!" (At the very least, if you don't agree with that statement, you agree that by being forgiven you escape all punishment and need for atonement beyond asking God forgiveness. At least, this is my understanding of it). It is my opinion that it doesn't matter a whit what you do. Even if your sins are forgiven or forgotten about, they still exist. Your actions will never go away. And merely praying will not destroy the thought-patterns that lead to "sinful" behavior. The only thing for it is to replace bad actions with good ones, and hope you leave the world in a better state than you left it. |

| I just realized I may have come across as a little bitter or angry or condescending. This was not my intention. It's just a little frustrating to hear that a bunch of empty words mean something beyond semantics. |

sins cannot be removed by good deeds. The whole reason why Jesus died was so we can be forgiven. As the sin was already paid for in full by the blood of Jesus.
picture this: You're making an omelet. As you start to crack the eggs, you get one little rotten egg in the mix. Its just a little of it, And you cant get it out. So, you try to mix in some salt, some vegetables, cheese, ham. And you mix it up. It may look good, but it still has that one little rotten egg inside, and will always be there.
The rotten egg is your sins, and the vegetables and other stuff is the good deeds. No matter how hard you try, there will always be that sin. Which is why you need to believe that Jesus died for your sins. |

I don't claim that sins can be removed. All I'm saying is that in the here and now, it doesn't matter at all if you're forgiven. I don't care if God forgives a man who has killed scores of people. I wouldn't forgive him unless he actually did something to atone for it. And it seems that you're making it sound like good deeds don't matter. Lemme break it down for you: I care about doing good deeds, and making people (and hopefully one day mankind) happy and better people. I don't care in the slightest what God (who may or may not exist) has to say about that. I don't care about Heaven or Hell, and whether or not they exist. All I care about is helping myself, my family, my friends, and just humans in general. |

@Aveeo There is no flamewar. If there is any combativeness in my tone, it's unintentional. |
