| They won't deprecated it -- they'll remove it entirely. |

I don't really think they will. Even if they do, I don't really see the harm in it. I know most of you don't like the idea of change, but it would be pretty simple to recreate R6 in your own game. Besides, R15 allows for more detailed animations. Imagine a game that scrapped the current animations for much more realistic and better-looking animations. A new era of game development could come about. But like I said, all of this is still optional and customizable, so it's completely up to the developer.

But there are loads of great r6 games where the devs quit roblox -- like Pirate Wars. I think, if roblox wants to remove r6, they'll need to add a setting that'll be automatically enabled on r6 games that consists of emulating r6 with the r15 skeleton -- if they do that, then I wouldn't mind much. |

They aren't going to remove R6 unless a large amount of games and people use R15. Not to mention (As others have said) removing R6 would break some games.
I don't even see R15 being the future, I think sooner or later they will go back to R6 and use bendy meshes instead of multiple parts. |

I think they will remove R6 Roblox has proven they don't care about old games. They'll probably use the same excuse they used for old terrain; "most users don't use it" |

Keeping old terrain was limiting what ROBLOX could be, due to technical issues. At the point it was removed, it was no longer an option in studio and everyone was already using smooth terrain anyway.
R15 and R6 are technically the same thing, just one of them has more parts. It would not be hard to keep both of them. |

They won't remove it entirely. That would break so many older games. It WILL be deprecated, and R15 will be default in the future.

They probably won't remove R6, at least I hope not. I'm going through so many of my scripts now changing things such as:
local torso = model:FindFirstChild('Torso') to:
local torso = nil for i,v in pairs(model:GetChildren())do if v.Name:lower():find('torso')then torso = v end end
That handles if the character is using R15 or R6 |

| the R6 should be the default animation type forever...It should be completely optional for the developer... |

| @caca50 You should look for the HumanoidRootPart instead as it's present in both R6 and R15 |

Like I said, even if they removed R6 (which I highly doubt they will), recreating it would be beyond simple.

it most likely wont be entirely removed, just unusable meaning u wont be able to switch an r15 game into an r6 game and they might get rid of r6 character selection and just leave it up to the game to pick their rig |

@caca50 why not just do this:
local t = char:findFirstChild("Torso")
if t == nil then print("did not find torso, must be using r15") end

| @Cozex If ## ## is tracking a player, and is looking for a torso, and then the player falls off the map, now the torso is gone. You can't just assume that because there is no torso, that it is using R15. And thanks guys, I didn't realize you could check the rig type directly |
