There should be an online course that trains you to sniff out the bait from quality posts, or at least half-decent ones.
EXAMPLE:
"[Random, unprovoked post worded in an insulting way to rile up as many people as possible, with absolutely no scientific or factual evidence to back up claim] followed by [LOL, LOW POSTIE] or if the person is really trying to rile other people up, follow the unprecedented or outrageous claim with more insults to get more responses."
sigh

Here, let me give a few more tips of bait posts:
-If the person's name is something absolutely outrageous, something that would be...even more bait for the person to click on the post
-If the post has been repeated multiple times by the same person, trying to provoke a response
-If the post doesn't match up with the subforum title. Hence, people posting controversial topics on ROBLOX TALK, an online subforum for a block video game aimed at children
etc

People are obviously upset by it as they can put themselves in the position of others or themselves in the situation being mentioned.
OP may be brutally honest and be hurting some of their valid opinions on the topic.

@Meal
I'm not even talking about normal topics, I'm talking about completely outlandish things that are just REAL enough for people to mistake it for a non-bait post
i guess that's what you'd expect out of RT lmaooooo

Yea it kinda is.
Although I'm kinda new, I've seen a hecka lot of flamewars. And I've been in some myself. They're not friendly and they don't resolve anything.

they are bait but the bait is usually based off the opinions of the poster, just in an exaggerated form
