| Just was confused as I'm still attempting to work my way around the changes this site has seemed to make. It's a bit saddening. Regardless I learned Lua from ROBLOX which opened my path into a few computer science opportunities. Was just wondering since I had spent some of my time on that forum. Haven't been on asides from a few visits to see my old places and such. |

Welcome back!
I have no idea scripting help has been gone, but this is basically the same thing. |

| Thanks, I don't mean to bring in an off topic conversation into this forum. But as an older user yourself would you say ROBLOX has been moving in a decent direction? I can't seem to forge an opinion out of all the new stuff. More importantly I should check what Studio is like these days. |

In terms of studio and what's possible to build/script today, I'd say definitely. I don't know when you were off ROBLOX (it seems like at least a few years ago), but in the past 3-4 years there have been so many new and awesome features like dynamic lighting, smooth terrain, CSG, user-uploaded meshes and sounds, a plugins library, and multiplayer studio. That's to say nothing of the many different scripting updates, like new functions and things like module scripts (I rarely use module scripts, but they seem very useful).
As far as ROBLOX overall, I'm less of a fan of the game's more recent updates. Things like price floor and removal of tix make it much harder for newer players without BC to fully appreciate the game, and I feel like admins have been favoring big-name game development over the more social aspect, as well as lots of things unique to ROBLOX. You probably noticed the new logo, which I'm not a huge fan of.
In addition to building and scripting, up until recently I have always been very active in the clans world and am/was a high rank in several groups. A lot of recent updates have totally neglected groups and clans, which I'm not a big fan of at all.
From a purely unbiased standpoint, ROBLOX has improved. But I think a lot of the things I liked so much about it are being downplayed nowadays. |

| My last active period was anywhere from 2012-2014. So it's been a bit. Studio sounds incredible and I'll certainly give it a shot when I can. My buddy told me the company has seemed to move towards a better experience for developers rather than the user, which is similar to some of the information you gave me. It is a bit sad to see them neglecting a bunch of the user features though. I know a lot of that is what brought the community together. Thanks for giving me the update on things. |
