This adventure game takes place within a story I created, and may or may not be published officially.
You are a knight(ess) belonging to the Equestrian Order of Saint Firdina; the Order of the Sanguine Wyvern of the Kingdom of Chriessel. Thy king ordered you to venture forth beyond the Dividing Gate so that you may locate an ancient tome, lost to time whence Giants, whose height was so grand, the tallest oak was like grass, roamed the island.
This Tome was made to combat the ancient menace your ancestors once drove out of your home, and you're eager to reclaim it and combat this fiend ago wishes to unleash this foe once more.
___________
In a land afar from thine own, where trees pierce the clouds and the breeze lays silent, thy adventure rests upon this trodden path through a man-made forest left abandoned. Many tempered trees, stumps and debris litter the grassland surrounding you. None of it in the way, as you're safely held high atop your wonderful horse.
The sun, from high above now barely peeks over the tips of the distant trees as you come across a fork in the way; and two signs now rent dangle from their post... Each one has letters vaguely written across their surfaces, but from atop your horse you can't make o####h###they say.
Infront of you is a pair of identical trails, and the broken signs. How does this story proceed?
A) Dismount, and ispect the signs. B) Take the left path. C) Take the right path. |

You draw near the point of the fork, and dismount from thine noble steed with a clank, and clatter of your armor. You unhook your sword from its frame on the saddle, and amble onwards towards the broken post; fluffing the choke of your scabbard all the while.
Peering towards the sign, and wiping away some nasty, a few letters make themselves apparent; though neither seek comforting.
The left sign reads: "TWDS NTH LICBA KEP"
The right sign reads: "DGRS E AED"
You sigh, and rub the back of your head... Obviously, the right sign indicates danger; but either one could be a red herring at this point... It's in a land which only ne'er-do-wells, the ferals and black shucks make their nests, so anyone could have done anything to everything.
You mount your horse once again, planning your next move. How does this story proceed?
A) Take the left path.
B) Take the right path. |

After taking a long, hard look at the signs you've finally made your decision; though it goes against your better judgement, from tales told danger seems to be at the forefront of any quest.
"It may as well be along this way; those tales can't all be wrong..." You reassure yourself.
You clutch the reins, and direct your horse right towards the path. You trust the signs, hoping it will lead you onwards. After quite a ways of travelling, as the sun hugs the horizon, no progress is seemingly made... Perhaps the signs were wrong? Shaking off the doubt, you press onwards.
Suddenly, off in the distance, the sound of a woman calling out for help resounds through the forest, making you jump in your saddle.
How does this story proceed?
A) Press onwards down the path. B) Investigate the cry for help. |

A very similar story, once told by your guardian in ages past flashes before you; reminding you of a similar situation which unfolded. You embody the story yourself, and bring it to life once more;
You direct your steed towards the cry for help, and gallop off the path where it seemed to have originated from. Thy voice rings true as you call out for them, making sure you're going the right way... After a minor correction, it doesn't take you long to get to the area.
You arrive to find yourself Infront of a glade; a fallen tree divides the clearing in twain... The voice, still calling out to you, comes from beyond that log.
How does this story proceed?
A) Investigate further B) Head back |

(I appreciate the added flare to your choices. Great touch!"
You steady yourself, dismounting from your noble steed yet again to investigate what lies beyond the log.
Sword in hand, and ready to draw, you carefully amble towards the tree... Stepping over to look around, it takes you but a moment to discover what hailed you... A disembodied head.
Taken aback, slipping on the log and falling on your shoulder over it, you come face to face with the head; frantically you scramble backwards, clutching your sword haphazardly in defense. The head sighs, and speaks.
"Nice to meet you, too."
How does this story proceed?
A) "...I'm sorry; nice to meet you...?" B) "A-a talking head?!" C) Get out of there. |

You regain your composure, humourously coughing to accent it.
"I'm sorry; nice to meet you... It's not every day I get to meet a..."
"Talking head?" She interrupts.
"Yes, that." You don't hesitate to respond.
After a second, you prop yourself and let your guard down. The face, though weirdly detached from its body, is actually quite pleasant to look at. Her pale, blueish skin gives a rather mystical look to her; and her white hair does the job even more.
"But," the silence is broken as she speaks, "I'm glad you came. I've been here for days calling out for someone; lo and behold a knight no less comes to my rescue."
"Of course. Anyone who needs help will get help, is my policy." You say, proudly.
Her eyes seem to widen a little, impressed by your words. Another awkward minute passes by, and she coughs to break the silence once more. She details that a few days ago, while being chased by an angry troll her head managed to get snagged on a branch as she was riding away. It's a sad, but humourous tale.
"... So, if at all possible - if you're not on some grand quest - may you help me find my body?"
How does this story proceed?
A) "Of course." B) "Um, I'm sorry but I am on a quest." |

"I'm sorry, but no... I am actually on a grand quest... I'm sorry I can't help." Regretfully, you sigh.
"W-wait!" As you stand, she catches your attention. "At least take me with you? Don't leave me here again, please... I can help you. Believe it or not, I was tasked with guiding adventurers through these lands."
You take a second to think.
A) Take her with you. B) Decline once again. |

Crap, that's not what I meant. But if I try to clear up the misunderstanding I'll only make it worse. It's fine. I might need the extra time anyway.
Anyway, she can come with me and this tome will probably do something crazy good for both of us. |

If she had a heart right now, it would be beating in her throat as you contemplate what should be done next.
After a solid minute passes by, you walk over to her and kneel; deciding to pick her up... Though awkwardly, you place her under your arm like a helmet and hold her by the chin.
"Thank you so much... At least I won't be eaten by some animal now." She sighs in relief.
"Don't mention it."
You make your way back to your horse, and stride yourself atop it. Her head is placed in your saddlebag, though she opposes the idea heavily, there really isn't any other choice. You now have the ability to call upon the Dullahan Guide to assist you on your quest.
After thirty minutes, you're back on track towards the end of the pathway.
How does this story proceed?
A) Ride on. B) Consult the Dullahan. C) Backtrack. |

Raring your horse back with a pull of the reins, and a resounding neigh - with the disdain, confused cry of the Dullahan getting bounced around - you gallop onwards down the pathway. It's already getting dark, and if old tales have taught you anything, night is a no-no.
...
..
.
It's finally nightfall. Taking a bit of a detour off the path, you've used what little daylight you had to create a camp for the night. Using a charm you've had stashed on your person, you toss it into the fire and create a lasting barrier to ward off monsters, and spirits around thine encampment.
The Dullahan, how safely - and sickly - resting beside you takes some comfort in having someone with her, and occasionally glances up towards you as you're tending to the fire, and the bit of food you have placed on a couple of sticks. Since there's nothing else to do, you just check on the meat and glance at the tent a couple times.
"Seriously, thank you." She whispers, audible enough for you to hear.
A) "It's my pleasure." B) "I only need your help, nothing more." C) "... You're welcome." |

"It's my pleasure; well, honestly I should be thanking you." You sigh, rubbing your head. "Even though I didn't look for your body, you still wanted to help even if it was just to get out of there. So thank you."
Her eyes widened, and gleamed in the firelight as she looked up at you. Though this was off to a rather rocky start, you hope to somehow make up for it; and that she forgives you. She takes a second to process what was said, and she just sits there in silence for a while.
You offer her some food, but awkwardly realize she doesn't have a body to eat with. Bummer...
..
.
The moon looms above you as you're finishing your food; and the uncomforting cry of the wolf puts you on the edge. Worried something nasty may leap from the shadows, a few things come to mind on how you could calm down; though knowing a rather nice to look at.....head is next to you is reassuring, her knowledge is valuable.
You decide too:
A) Consult the Dullahan.
B) Pitch a tent, and head to ####
C) Search the area. |
