AUSCOM, formally "Australian Special Operations Command" is an active unit of the Australian military. Both of the main units, being apart of the army; the units being the famed Special Air Service Regiment, and then the support regiment, the 2nd Commandos.
This is the handbook for AUSCOM, there is no such thing as a bad question, so PM me, the author about it. __________________________________________________ 1########2##########3########4###URPOSE OF UNITS 5. Discord ___________________________________________________________________________________- AUSCOM, sometimes referred to as "SOCOMD" or "SOCA", is a command branch of the Australian military, primarily to organize all special operations capable units under one umbrella of command. So far there are only two units inside, SAS-R and 2CDO. Currently, the best way to get into AUSCOM is by attending a 2CDO tryout. This handbook is used to supply needed information for the command. __________________________________________________ 2. PURPOSE
AUSCOM's purpose is primarily to have an easy way for each unit of a special operations command to be able to connect to one another in an easily accessible fashion, this means relations and respect for each unit can commence. That is the operator's view, from a command staff view, the regiment COs are not above the law, and must respond to a Co###Chain of Command). __________________________________________________ 3. UNITS
1. Preparedness Program; officially not a unit, but a program to supply for said unit, this is the program that gives you the pathway for two units, SAS-R or 2CDO. You will learn more about this unit later. 2. SAS-R. SAS-R is heavily influenced by the British SAS, going to the point of sharing the same flash and badge, and even the same motto. We have attained similar skills, and both represent the country's best of the best. SAS-R is the hardest unit to get into, with a track record of a total of, to date, 8 people joining, out of 46, one training without anyone finishing.
3. 2CDO. 2CDO is also heavily influenced by British special operation capable fighting force, the Royal Marine Command0s. Their job is to be there as extra might for SAS-R, rarely has this unit performed combat operations, but is the bigger of three units, making it a needed unit for full effect of AUSCOM __________________________________________________ 4. PURPOSE OF UNITS
1. SAS-R is designed for aerial, direct, and submerged assault, as well as other unconventional purposes like hostage rescue, combat intelligence, recon, and airfield raids.
2. 2CDO is called when a problem arises that regular units cannot handle, their set of skills include heavy assault, primarily the act of moving in, hunkering down, and preparing for a fight. __________________________________________________ 5. TRAINING
Each unit, rather you are in the preparedness program, or 2CDO, it is imperative to maintain personal combat and mental ability. To do this, it's worth it to go through regular trainings, do obstacle courses not connected to the group, raid groups (DO NOT WEAR ANY UNIFORM WITH AUSTRALIAN INSIGINIAS, AS THIS IS A DECLARTION OF WAR), push yourself to get better KD/Rs, do more frequent time runs of courses and breach houses, or even just practicing your combat skills at the range. __________________________________________________ 6. PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM
As said before, this program is not a unit, it is the process of trainees to get into any unit. The program is simply optional, and goes over unit specifics and breaching tactics, this usually improves a candidate's chances in selection for SAS-R and 2CDO.
Trainings for this, will usual be on Wednesdays and Fridays, sometimes Saturdays , a hour or two behind SAS-R or 2CDO tryouts. __________________________________________________ 7. VOLUNTEERING FOR SO SERVICE
SO stands for "Special Operator", to be a SO, you must first show interest, joining a unit before you join AUSCOM is usually the best way to get into AUSCOM. Pro tips to get accepted by the main acceptor himself:
1. Clean up your groups, blurbs, clothing, places, anything that will embarrass you, or decline your ability to get accepted, change.
2. Don't be obnoxious first hand, first impressions are important, and if I don't think you're a team player, I'm not gonna accept you.
3. Show yourself as an asset, prove before hand that you have the guns to fit the bills.
Until you are accepted into AUSCOM, you are not in official service. __________________________________________________ 8. P###w#############e###### place being a unit. The pathways to SAS-R and 2CDO is listed below.
SAS-R: first join AUSCOM, by going through the acceptance process. PM your interest to the CO (me), if you check out, you will be accepted into SAS-R and will be required to attend a tryout within one and a half week (unless given a waiver otherwise), then you must complete the 1-6 challenge of the tryouts, only then, will you be accepted.
2CDO: attend tryouts, join, get into AUSCOM. __________________________________________________ 9. Discord THIS IS REQUIRED FOR SAS-R, 2CDO does not have to have it, but they can if they wish.
Firstly, send a request to KevanJHood#1643 and Rhetorical_Operator#6767, we will put you into the appropriate chats. __________________________________________________
I wish this guide helpful for anyone who uses it, properly, take the extra mile and become familiar with all of it. ~ CO/XO of S.O.C.A. |
