Many of you don't seem to understand why sword clans don't have a more advanced combat system and a better sword. So I'm going to break it down. Ever since sword fighting was created, the LinkedSword was always the main unit of melee. It created a tradition. People have spent years developing style, using timing, acquiring tips and tricks, etc. (Yes gun clanners, swords take skill as well). People still use LinkedSwords today, because the tradition keeps going. The community does not want to learn a new style of combat after they've spent years studying the original one. People don't want that taken away from them, they want to be able to use the same exact sword they've been using for years and improve with it. The LinkedSword was created a long long time ago so obviously, the script is not complex. And melee weapons shouldn't have a complex script anyway.
Why are LinkedSwords good for sword clans?
They're universal, anyone can use them and anyone has access to them. That makes it easy for raids since people who've never raided there before know what weaponry to expect and they don't have to worry about adjusting to a new sword or combat system. This keeps things simple, and leaves out confusion.
Is there anything for sword clans that can be innovated?
I'm sure there are a multitude of small things that could be added to make swords a cooler experience. Shields would completely ruin the current combat system and people would most likely not like it due to the major change in gameplay, like I've explained before. There could even be little effects when the swords clash or when a sword touches an enemy, but that would generate more lag and give swords an even more reachy, laggy experience.
I would rather keep swords how they are now, simple. The less reach and less lag the better. The extra sword designs have been done before and the rest of the community hasn't really went with it, they just ignored it.

My opinion wont make it go away, but it becoming more and more obsolete, outdated, and overused eventually will. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not. LINKED SWORDS ARE WASHED.

The Star Wars genre uses shields and spears because it fits their genre. Most regular sword clans just follow the tradition, and that's the best thing to do. The community wouldn't follow if someone tried otherwise.

| Now, now sword clans weren't always garbage they did have their moments/time in the clan world. However, I will agree they're pretty bland and have to be tied to VIP recruiting and the likes in order to get anywhere today. |

What do you mean, Jon? I've considered innovation in this thread as well but it isn't suited for swords.
After 2014 is when the reach started playing a big role, along with lag. The last thing we need is even more, so it's best to just stay simple. Melee weapons aren't complex.

Melee weapons were never meant to be complex, and they will never be complex.
Accept sword clans for what they are and move on. There is no excuse to keep bashing them, I've explained everything in this thread.

You're right about that. Hating on Sword Clans will do nothing. Sword Clans'll eradicate themselves unless they do something more crisp and innovative.

Sword clans are more active than gun clans at the moment so you can't say anything about us dying.
Don't underestimate our activity with our tools.

C&G knows this already, we have activity over gun clans. There are more sword clans than gun clans, and most relevant sword clans rally 30+, some are capable of rallying 40, 50, or even 60.

"Sword Clans" are irrelevant and have been since 2014. Majority of the actual sword community has moved on so stop beating this dead horse

Sword clans are irrelevant on C&G because they stay away from it. Otherwise, they are completely relevant and are doing just fine.
Not sure what kind of clan bubble you're living in...

the things i want to see in sword clans involve newer raid systems, and better training places changing the way the weapons work isnt a solution, nor would it be widely accepted |
