If you're in America then Spanish
Cuz then you can put it on your job applications
French is useless... Unless you live near France? |

if you're taking it for the usefulness/being able to use it in the future, spanish
if you're doing it for fun and to get it off your transcript requirements, whichever one you prefer
Hablo un poco español, pero no hablo francés or however you spell it.
gotta love español dos

I would do Spanish But I want to do something I really want to do. Spanish just seems to be used often but I really don't like speaking it. I had the worst time before learning both languages but I'm giving it a try again. |

| Is learning a Language easy? For me it would just seem hard to remember everything then process it in English then speak it back in another language |

lol french isn't close enough to spanish to be able to know it like that
italian and spanish can do that
@op
if you don't live near a really big city (chicago, ny, la, sf, sd, etc.) or anywhere else with a high spanish population (like texas) and you're not planning to move somewhere that'd have a high spanish population, french is fine
but, if you do live in a place with a lot of spanish peeps and you plan on doing something that would require customer/public relations (sales, medical field, maybe some business, etc.) then consider doing spanish

@Z007 You seriously don't know what you're talking about. French and Spanish are based on the latin system. People acknowledge french as having a more complex grammatical system.
I speak French better than I speak English because I live in French Canada, and I can understand Spanish very well without having taken Spanish classes. |

it really depends on the language and the person
Por me, es facíl (ish) aprender español; tengo un 97 en mi clase, pero así (not the right word but still) personas no piensan que es facíl aprender español.
that says something like "for me, it's easy (ish) to learn spanish; I have a 97 in my clase, but some people don't think it's easy to learn spanish.

@forenz
yeah if you went to a spanish speaking country, I highly doubt you'd have conversational knowledge simply because of french.

I wouldn't say talk, because I haven't taken any formal Spanish class. But I generally do understand the language because all the words they use are familiar.
In fact, due to English being partially based on latin as well, if a Spanish speaker spoke slowly, an anglophone could understand a bit too. |

in what universe does knowing what this says (google translate, so it's probably bad grammar but still): Salut, comment vas-tu aujourd'hui? Je viens de rentrer de vacances dans les Bahamas. Les plages étaient plutôt bien, mais franchement, je aurait pu aller sans la méduse.
allow you to know what this says: Hola, ¿cómo estás hoy? Me acabo de volver de vacaciones en las Bahamas. Las playas eran bastante agradable, pero francamente podría haber ido sin la medusa.
obviously there are some similarities, but still

Yes it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atI-JPGcF-k
And it's even more so the case when you're talking to someone from Spain, as the language may have some direct influences from their neighbor France |

Spanish is way more practical and it easily bleeds into other languages such as Portuguese.
French isn't all that much useful unless you're in Europe and travel.
Then again, if French is your passion then go for it.
And no, learning a different language is not easy at all. However in comparison to how difficult it is to learn various different languages, Spanish is probably one of the "easier" ones to learn.
