I bought my car for 3,750$ less than a year ago, I researched and shopped around on ########## all summer plus a little bit into the school year before finding one I really wanted for the right deal. Take you're time looking and know what you want. I'd suggest starting by browsing ########## till you find something you like the look of, then check car gurus for reviews on reliability and performance, and Kelly blue book to see if the seller is giving a fair price. Obviously try to do a one time payment of cash if it's you're first car (just my opinion, no reason to start making payments at our ages). People might roast me but I'm gonna suggest you looks for an NA or NB (gen 1 or 2) mazda miata. They're fun to drive and super reliable. The only downsides are the criticism you'll get from a few meatheads.

If you want a car that literally just gets you from point A to B then get get a Saturn because they're not at all in demand but are really reliable. If you want something "cool" we'll need to know your budget.

I don't know a lot about mustangs cuz I personally don't care for the foxbodys, which is all I'd be able to afford. The important thing is that you just do a little research and can go in to discussions with sellers pretty well informed. Use the sites I already mentioned and also watch reviews and buyer guides specific to the cars you're looking to buy on ######## And if you have a family member or friend that's mechanically knowledgeable see if they can come along with you to check things out. Things you can look at yourself are if the tires match and have good tread and basic checklist stuff, you can find better guides on that than I can give you. Good luck man, getting a car is a really great thing especially when you know you made an informed decision.
