There have recently been an influx of users who's accounts have seemingly been compromised coming to this sub forum. I want to take a minute to explain all-around measures you can take to protect yourself both on this site, and everywhere else.
Let's start with the basics. Computers, and internet. From a distance there are really only a few ways your personal data can be compromised in general. We'll start with ROBLOX.
-Giving out any personal info. This really the biggest threat to you here. Just don't do it. Avoid scams, and any user who asks for such even on a promise to give ROBUX, or free items.
-Second, and rarely covered potential risk. Do not download ANY extensions for your browser any user makes. Preferably, avoid all extensions even if they are not for this site. An extension is a code that is inserted into your browser, and even if it's safe today, it may not be tomorrow. Use discretion, and research the reviews, and credentials of the extension you are getting. If it's not made by a large well-known company, AVOID IT.
-Mail. It best to avoid any mail from sources you are not familiar with. Just mark it as read, and move on. AVOID GIVING #### #### OUT TO ANYONE, UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, and for sites make sure they are trusted. Even some big ones can sell your####l####others, and that can result in a maliciously coded mail being sent to your inbox guised to look legit.
-Mobile, and applications. The golden rule of thumb is to treat anything downloaded from the internet as a potential risk to your privacy, and identity. Make sure applications are downloaded from trusted sources, and backed by positive reviews. When in doubt, use the web. Even if something seems legit, search it with the intent to look for a fault. Web search EX: Is ROBLOX legit? (Using ROBLOX as an example since listing other sites here isn't allowed.) You'd be surprised how many legitimate seeming things even I would have used that I never did due to shocking results.
Stay safe on the internet, and never let anonymity fool you. You're not as untraceable as you think. |

Also here's a protip:
don't even vist the scam sites.
there's a concept I created that allows the website to take your userID, .ROBLOSECURITY cookie, and break in without you even entering anything.

| Sites can have what's called a Drive by infection. It's nothing new. Keep Antivirus software up to date, and yes avoid known bad sites. (Drive by sites are extremely rare however. If they were common, you'd hear a lot more about them.) |

Its a unused concept I came up with a few months back. I might code it one day. |

| What are you on ###### ##### by is not that new at all, and there are already such malicious attacks out there. Also, what do you mean code it one day? Are you saying you will one day code a piece of malicious software to attack other's computers? In my personal standpoint, it is because of drive by, and hidden attacks like that, that I prefer MacOS over windows any day. It's the new age. Where protecting yourself online is as important as it is to protect, or in the past, protect your identity by shredding documents. Mac may be a terrible disgrace to the PC world in their eyes, but it is hands down the safest. |

| My post is intended to help people. I am not a moderator, nor what you call a "mini-mod". I have better things to do than policing ROBLOX. |
