Just ask someone as a friend if you have no interest in getting in a relationship or if you already aren't in one
No pressure to do a promposal and you don't have to rent a limo/supercar/sports car, but you still have to do the other crap |

| @dark just fill your mind with vengeful thoughts as you wish harm upon everyone else for being better than you while you sit there without a date unlike everyone else |

But anyway, if I can't get a prom date, I'm just not going to go |

"My prom is on a cruise ship"
WOW that's pretty cool. I mean I might get seasick on that like I did when I went on a ship off the coast of Cabo, but if you don't then hell yeah it's worth it to go. Even if you go alone, I mean going alone has its own advantages since you're basically not glued to one person all night, you can roam around and go into groups or something if you want
Our prom is at a restaurant with arguably some of the best views in Texas over Lake Travis, but the food there sucks and I don't even think anyone's going to order anything there, don't know about where an afterparty is yet though |

"I'm just not going to go"
Just go your senior year. I have a few close senior friends who aren't going and I'm also preparing for the moment when they regret not going as well. Just do everything senior year tbh, go all out because it's the last year of childhood before you step into the adult world and you pretty much have all the accessibility of an adult (driving, treated like an adult, etc).
Like I said, there's advantages of going alone |

I'm sorta nervous about this though, when I went to pick up my homecoming date at her door she only had a single mom who's Croatian so she's nicer than a typical American parent
When I pick up my prom date, I gotta meet her (most probably) redneck parents for the first time and that may not be the prettiest thing ever |

If I did go alone, my friends would make fun of me for not having somebody and that's why I wouldn't go.
And yeah your last sentence makes sense.

No idea where the senior prom is but I'll most likely go to that one

I still don't regret going to my prom, it was literally an excuse for the people that went to get wasted one last time before graduation.
I mean sure that changed when grad was moved to the day after but that didn't stop some people. |

| No point in going if you're like me where you have no date and no ######## friends to mingle with |

Just go with friends, even if they're dudes
Make sure you go in a group of more than, like, two though otherwise you send off the wrong signals |

| So my date finally said today she's going to wear a black dress, that clears off some stress since I am renting a black/silver tux and I was banking on her wearing either black or silver |
