There was literally no reason to take lifetime and 6-month BC/TBC/OBC memberships offsale. This is only going to bring ROBLOX's revenue down a lot.

Good job at making one of the worst updates yet ROBLOX, I hope you actually fix it this time because you're basically killing your own company.

I support lifetime coming back. It's quite inconvenient now that it's removed, it was a perfect membership to have if you wanted to keep getting R$ every time you login. Not having to worry about your membership expiring.

I also dislike the fact that the staff didn't fully explain the removal.

Hopefully we get a better explanation along with the memberships returning.

I can't think of a reason for getting rid of it. I did think, "Hey, maybe it's because when you're all grown up, and you no longer like ROBLOX, then you won't need membership anymore, and you can cancel your BC." But that can't be right, because you could just gift your account to your little cousin or something, if you really don't like ROBLOX anymore.

Giving you an option to pay annually makes sense, for those that don't want to spend a ton of money, but also don't think they will spend more than a year or two more on ROBLOX. And buying lifetime would mean that you never have to worry about renewing your membership.

Also, it's hardly fair that the people who already bought Lifetime get to keep it, while the rest of us have to pay Annually, which will end up costing you more if you spend 4 more years on this site.

Or maybe they thought "Hey, we don't want a bunch of idle BC accounts in the year 2020, after many of the users from Old ROBLOX have left the site. So we should get rid of Lifetime before we end up with a bunch of useless BC accounts in the future!" But that can't be it either. Idle BC accounts don't do any harm. The only way these accounts would affect anything is if they were PG'd.

Anyway, that's my rant on the removal of Lifetime membership.

it was pointless to remove it and at the very least roblox could have given us a warning before removing it permanently

I support but:

I preach, "Little lesson

Let's say roblox's income is $100. They have two options. Buy yearly for $1 or buy lifetime for $2 Every year ten people buy lifetime by ten years roblox wouldn't get income anymore, they'd be losing money and won't be able to keep the site.

Yeah they'd have their bank money from the purchases but it wouldn't be renewing, and it would most likely be used as profit money when they'd haul out. Of course this is only a small scale example and not wide scale with a bunch of other factors. But it is simple enough to understand why they did it.

It's either Roblox or No Roblox.

No I do not feel like making a algebraic equation for this, it's just common sense people."

There's your reason. Once you have bought life time- you no longer have to make any BC purchases. Thus if a very large proportion of people purchase life time then roblox's revenue will go down.

Roblox doesn't have statistics to tell if more people are purchasing renewing BC or if they are losing BC people. So I can't make a widescale equation anyway without it being a hypothesis. But regardless they need money to keep the site up. (Funding Dev Ex is probably what started this.)

And apparently they weren't getting enough. It's common sense, but be realistic.

But I can see why they do this, they do this because people could get around having to shell out more money annually or monthly to get their benefits, lifetime makes it one and done, which from a business perspective is not a good way to do things. They want to make as much money out of each player as possible, but how can we blame them, they are a company after all? I cannot see the logic of removing the 6 months, unless it was too good of a deal and roblox felt they might lose potential money.

Essentially, ROBLOX did it to maximize profit, but they're just doing what other companies do.

Regardless of the fact that ROBLOX will likely never repeal this update, you have my full support.

ROBLOX is not killing its own company by removing lifetime.
Its actually increasing its profit.

When ROBLOX was much smaller, the lifetime membership wasnt going to affect the company that much.

But now, more users, much more people buying lifetime than before, lessening the potential revenue for the company. So removing it costs us more money, and keeps the corporation alive a little longer.

Yet I am still puzzled as to why they removed 6 month. It would've been harmless to keep it.

I support this fully, bring back the BC options we lost.

^ Although due to this change, roblox might see less people purchasing more BC. MIGHT see- depending on everyone's opinion on the matter. However people oblivious to it or newcomers will likely still buy BC. Then months or years later when this blows over it'll be like it never happened... I mean in 100 years...

Support I bought 6 month recently because I think that's how long my intrest in roblox will last but now I'm forced to either renew monthly or yearly.

its either waste money in the long run until i lose intrest with monthly

or pay for something I wont use fully with yearly

6month was the perfect middle
