After a few months of inactivity on this game, I have decided to clear things out for the 7 people who still care about WIJ.
This isn't necessarily an official announcement because I didn't show it to the HICOM as a whole.
With the release ## ##### it has become pretty clear to me that classic bases no longer bring long-term activity to the group as people barely raid anymore. As some of you are aware, we had a few bases in progress that each featured a unique game-mode. However, months of work on a new base would only result in a few weeks of activity before it gets old again. The same thing can be applied to a training place, on top of the fact that it doesn't bring much content or utility compared to Outpost Indigo II. The time I can invest in development reduces every year.
It should then be clear that I don't expect to release a new training place/base for a while, if not ever. There is also no plan to do a public release of w##E####time soon because I am still contemplating a new project for the group, which brings me to the next point.
As I said, since clans no longer bring as much activity and fun as they used to, therefore a new project might be in place to bring WIJ to a fresher genre.

To be clear, this is in no way a promise and I can't guarantee at all that this project will see the light of the day.

Also, the work on wACE will not be wasted, in fact the engine should support appropriately my current ideas.
This project takes into account two important points; the relatively small amount of time it will take to realize it and the fact that it will be somewhat new for a clan like WIJ.
Here's the vague design document which shows that the project is separated into three phases which will be released separately, meaning that I will decide if I want to continue working on the project after a phase is done. Please note that none of this is set in stone.
= PHASE I
- Movement
The main idea here is to feature space combat, more importantly multi-crew combat. The captain flies the ship on some sort of 2D plane, which means that they can go left and right while only being able to go up and down to a certain limit.
- Interior instance
Each ship has its own interior instance which is located in a hidden spot. You are obviously able to distinguish that you're not actually located in the moving object, but you can move freely inside the ship. This concept can bring interesting mechanics and role-play.
- Turrets
Turrets are implemented using the same functions as our current weaponry, so there is a good variety of weapon types available for your ship. You are able to use a turret by going to its console inside the ship, which then sets your camera's position to the ship's.
- Shields
Shields are be located on all sides of the ship. They act similarly to the current personal shields in wACE, however they do not regenerate until a certain criteria is met. Once a side's shield is depleted, the hull is no longer protected on that said side, therefore it takes permanent damage when hit.
- Energy management
A console can be used to split the ship's energy depending on the situation. The variables that are currently planned for this system are the engines (acceleration/max-speed), the turrets (fire-rate/damage) and shields (deplete-rate).
- Repairing
Engineers are able to repair different objects in the ship to regain a bit of hull integrity each time it is done. Turrets lose fire-rate/damage and engines lose speed as they get hit. The engineer has the ability to repair these systems to bring them back to their full potential.
- Docking
Once a ship is in critical status, the engines get disabled and the captain loses the ship's control. Other ships are able to dock it, which links both interior instances together before opening the hatches. Character interactions are then possible between both crews (fight, steal, arrest, etc). This docking process can also be done between two ships for diplomacy purposes when both captains agree to do it.
= PHASE II
- Cargo (physical crates) - Mining (asteroids) - Space stations (dockable, interior instance) - Energy management (split between weaponry, engines, shields, etc)
= PHASE III
- Single fighters (custom fly-model, third-person view) - Single fighters carriers (single fighter carried by multi-crew ship)

| or i mean you could drop WIJ and work on something more productive, start your own idea or jump start with someone else. youre not showing much optimism in your intro "7 people who care about wij" and you probably know full well that that mentality is very counter-intuitive to what you want to achieve. im not trying to bash on wij or anything, but you're probably right, it's probably gonna go inactive again after a short period of activity. problem is not enough outsourcing and marketing to a bigger audience you're not aware ### #### was some really nice stuff and its disappointing wij didnt effectively use that as an opportunity. use your talent on something you know can be successful and dont let clans hold you back |

I don't see your point As a developers standpoint, owning JC has held me back and I've accomplished more without it. Owning a war clan means and says nothing if you have no special trade or talent |
