Do some research and see what types of games people are generally interested in, after you have chosen what you want to do then you will have a strong start. Make sure to be creative when choosing what you want to do. Personally I don't like copied games and i pleasure more creativity.
Good luck!

Come up with an idea, build everything you need, and then script it. If you don't know how to script, hire someone to script it and pay them a certain amount of the game's earnings.

| If you want to make an entire game on your own you should really learn to script first |

Most of the time game developers like Jinx do building and hire people to script. (Fun fact, Jinx hates me.)

Don't build everything first
Here's why;
When you build everything first, after you've finished everything you may look at it all and just out of nowhere become unmotivated. This is from my own experience. I find it much easier to script before I build. |

I would recommend you to first plan out what kind of game you want to make, then just build/script every part of it.

There are pros and cons to each. I'd perhaps build things first then take scripting breaks along the way - I suggest building first just so you have a solid foundation of everything you need to script. Idk, I'm a scripter myself and I don't build but if I did this is probably what I would do. Just mix it up.
@mm hey i saw you at my game mountaineer how was it

| you shouldn't be doing either one first, you should be sort-of doing both at once |
