I've been trying to animate this custom character, but it seems like it's impossible to animate. However, when I animate a custom character with no union, it works just fine. So my question is, is it possible to animate a custom character with unions?

Unions should work for animating.
Here's a bit of an animation rig checklist.
Does the model you're trying to animate have a HumanoidRootPart? Does it have a Humanoid or an AnimationController (and not both)? Is everything unanchored except the HumanoidRootPart? Are the parts of the model connected with Motor6Ds?

@doran
i don't think that's the problem
like, the character moves but the animations just don't work and it doesn't matter if the humanoid root part has cancollided checked off or not, it'll do the same thingy

Is your animation script loading the animation properly?

uh, i don't think it is
btw i'm not a scripter so sorry if i sound dumb or don't know what something simple is
usually when you make a custom character, it uses the default animation and has a really weird animation but my custom character just stands completely still, but can still move

Ok, so you aren't using a custom animation script, you're just letting Roblox handle the animating with the default Animate script?
If that's the case, then I would just weld the custom character parts to their respective limbs.

It might be possible but it's advanced more than that. I prefer trying to use parts together. |
