SHS Student Co###s of 3/9/2017.
-Students Bill of Rights- It is the students rights: To attend classes. To receive an education at this public institution no matter your age, gender, race, etc. To expect that school will be a safe, orderly and purposeful place for all students to gain an education and be treated fairly. To be respected as an individual. To express one's opinion. To dress in such way to reflect one's personality. To receive equal and appropriate educational opportunities. To take part in all school activities. To be protected from intimidation, harassment or discrimination based on actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethic group, religion or religious practice, gender, gender identity, or disability, by employees or students on school property or a school sponsored event, function or activity.
-Dress Code All students are expected to be fully dressed for school. One's clothing shall not be disruptive or offensive. If students are caught disobeying the dress code, they shall be asked to change. Upon refusal, one shall receive a suspension.
-Students are asked to avoid the following behavior: 1. Making unreasonable noise. 2. Engaging in any willful act which disrupts the normal operation of the school. 3. Failing to listen and follow the rules and instructions of any teachers, administrator or other school employee. 4. Engage in any form of harassment. 5. Possession of illegal goods. 6. Engaging in any conduct that is violent. 7. Lying to school personnel. 8. Discrimination upon any person on student grounds. 9. Using vulgar or abusive language. 10. Revealing any personal information of oneself or another person.
-Penalties in the event a student disobeys the Code of Conduct: -Verbal warning by any member of staff. -Written warning. -Suspension from athletic participation. -Suspension from social or extracurricular activities. -In school suspension. -Removal from classroom and or school grounds. -Short term suspension. (5 days or less) -Long term suspension. (More than 5 days) -Permanent suspension.
