| Even though gorillas are about 6x stronger then an average human, a hippo would destroy a gorilla in a fight. |

| @Instinctive, I thought that at first too, but I think gorilla. Both of their jaws have enough pressure to break through bone, and it is true that hippos are stronger in that sense, but gorillas are quicker. idk. |

| Hippos are the most dangerous animal in all of Africa, they can fend off attacks from groups of nile crocodiles. |

lots of factors into it tho.
it'd depend where the fight is at. if the fight was in the water, my bet would be on hippos all day, but if it were on land, I'd take my chances with the gorilla. If it was in shallow water though, harder decision, but I'd still put my money on a gorilla.
also might depend on the type of gorilla as well. lets assume the gorilla is a silverback, strongest of the gorillas. |

| Well, It mostly comes down to size and strength, Hippos have an advantage because they are pretty much like Mike Tysons of the animal world. They can truck a gorilla and kill it on impact, and their jaws are so big that they can pick up a crocodile. |

mhm i see what ur saying but heres the thing
"Hippos have an advantage because they are pretty much like Mike Tysons of the animal world. They can truck a gorilla and kill it on impact" ----I am not doubting that hippos are not stronger than gorillas, because they are much stronger, but they are not as quick. Gorillas are too agile, so I just can't picture them getting trucked by a hippo because they'd easily dodge it.
"and their jaws are so big that they can pick up a crocodile." ----Jaws are big, and it will crush anything that is placed inside it, including a gorilla, but a gorilla can also crush bone with its jaw. I just think hippos would be too slow for a gorilla. |

@smooks
Well, ok you do have good points. The thing about wild animal predators is that they have been undergoing natural selection since their species have evolved. So, under the right circumstances they all have advantages over one another. |

I agree. im not saying that a gorilla would always win. my prediction would be 7 times out of 10, i think a gorilla would win.
not that it really matters tho cuz we'll never see it happen |

@Innocuity
Ever heard of an alligator? Well, Nile Crocodiles are relatives of alligators, and they live in Africa (Nile River). They are much larger then alligators though. |
