Not exactly in hardware, but when it comes to morals.. AMD is far above Nvidia.
AMD created Vulkan API which will unite gamers across platforms - this is a GOOD thing.
AMD open sources the majority of the software and drivers they create - this is also a VERY good thing.
And what has Nvidia done? Steal AMD's code, close source it, and divide the gaming community?

Nvidia has better Linux drivers in my experience.

@GNU
Well yeah, AMD Linux drivers are open source, and aren't priority. So the open source drivers are a huge project.
Once the AMDGPU-PRO Driver for Linux is good, then Linux will have decent AMD drivers. |

There are already decent GPU drivers for AMD in the newest Linux kernels, the problem is that not a lot of distros have the shiniest newest kernels and a lot of companies don't support the open source drivers.
And yes, in general AMD has better morals than Nvidia. But when I got an AMD card, installed the drivers and my computer crashes (on Linux), I retried it like 7 times, each time my PC crashed and had to reinstall the distro from scratch.
When I reached out their support them they said: "We can not help you unless you use Ubuntu" and then I was like... I'll just pick up Nvidia the next time.

@krazy That only matters for the gamers, but for programmers / game creators this argument is a pretty big deal.
