Movie: It Follows Released: March 27, 2015 Length: 1 hour 40 minutes Genre: Horror, Mystery Rated: R
IMDb Rating: 6.9/10
IMDb Summary: "For nineteen-year-old Jay, Autumn should be about school, boys and week-ends out at the lake. But after a seemingly innocent 𝑠𝑒𝑥𝑢𝑎𝑙 encounter, she finds herself plagued by strange visions and the inescapable sense that someone, something, is following her. Faced with this burden, Jay and her friends must find a way to escape the horrors, that seem to be only a few steps behind."
Perry's Rating: 7.5/10
Perry's Review: one of the better horror movies i've seen for sure. this film is one of the only films that i've ever watched that absolutely require you to THINK. after watching it, i looked up people's reactions, and there are so many different theories of what the thing ("It") following the girl was. the ending was somewhat disappointing (in my opinion), although i assume that the ending will open up the possibility of a sequel (which i would most certainly watch). the movie is very suspenseful at times, but i wouldn't say it's very "scary". all in all, this is a movie i definitely recommend to those who don't like explanations and details handed to them on a silver platter. there's a reason this film has such a high score on review sites such as 'Rotten Tomatoes' and 'Metacritic". |

Movie: The Good Girl Released: August 30, 2002 Length: 1 hour 33 minutes Genre: Drama, 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 Rated: R
IMDb Rating: 6.5/10
IMDb Summary: "The plot revolves around a young married woman whose mundane life takes a turn for the worse when she strikes up a passionate and illicit 𝑎𝑓𝑓𝑎𝑖𝑟 with an oddball discount-store stock boy who thinks he's Holden Caulfield."
Perry's Rating: 4.5/10
Perry's Review: honestly, this movie is just bad. i have no idea how the hell it won any awards at all, and i have no idea how it has such a high rating on IMDb. the overall idea of the movie is cool, but i just didn't like the way the movie was. Jennifer Aniston is a great actress, but this movie's acting felt so cheesy and corny. i don't recommend this to anyone, although if you like 𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 movies no matter what, go for it. |

"Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009) - 10/10"
Holy... I've always wondered the name of this movie after I saw it on television years ago. Some how out of all of your movies I decided to search this one and it was the one I watched...
Legit the one movie where I truly cried. Incredible movie and I would rate it 10/10 any day of the week for the tragic ending it has. =( |

Movie: Anomalisa Released: December 30, 2015 Length: 1 hour 30 minutes Genre: Animation, Comedy, Drama Rated: R
IMDb Rating: 7.3/10
IMDb Summary: "Michael Stone, an author that specializes in customer service, is a man who is unable to interact deeply with other people. His low sensitivity to excitement, and his lack of interest made him a man with a repetitive life on his own perspective. But, when he went on a business trip, he met a stranger - an extraordinary stranger, which slowly became a cure for his negative view on life that possibly will change his mundane life."
Perry's Rating: 7/10
Perry's Review: this movie is.. interesting to say the least. when i saw the cover picture, i thought it wasn't animated, so i was surprised when i saw the main character for the first time. the plot is great, i love the overall idea of the film. the beginning is somewhat dull, but it does pick up after the first 25 minutes or so. this film is relatively similar to "It Follows", in that everything isn't handed to you on a silver platter. this movie has a very deep meaning to it, a meaning that i didn't realize until i did some research on it. i was getting ready to rate this movie low after the first 25 minutes (because, as said above, it does start off pretty dull), but the film after that and explanations found on the internet really opened my eyes to how special this film is. |

IMDb Summary: "Dory is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. Her journey brings her to the Marine Life Institute, a conservatory that houses diverse ocean species. Dory now knows that her family reunion will only happen if she can save mom and dad from captivity."
Perry's Rating: 8/10
Perry's Review: it just got released on Netflix a day or 2 ago, and i finally got around to seeing it. it had a lot to live up to after how successful the original "Finding Nemo" was. well, it's safe to say it didn't disappoint (didn't disappoint me anyways). while reading some of the reviews, i noticed a lot of people seem to be unhappy with the sequel, but i liked it a lot, especially the scene that really pulls on the heart strings (if you've watched it you'll know what i'm talking about). of course it's not better than the original, but again, it had A LOT to live up to. there are some parts that are really unrealistic or inaccurate, but i hardly noticed them at the time, and it doesn't really take away anything for me. definitely recommend it to those who haven't seen it, although you shouldn't expect it to be "Finding Nemo" great. |
