Basically I'm going to make a script were models/parts wont generate until you're at a certain distance.
How can I do this? Do I move all of the models to replicated storage, or some other parent?
The goal is to reduce lag.

roblox already does this at low graphics but if for some reason you arent satisfied then constantly generate region3s to find the nearest parts to parent to the visible screen
anything else could potentially be laggier |

read the wiki, yes.
That's the objective of streaing enabled. If your code is reliant on parts in the workspace other than ones directly attached to the player, you're going to have a bad time.
