Some accolades:
-Highest attended sporting competition in the world, with an average of 68,968 fans coming to watch the 2016 season. (We beat the NFL by about 500 fans, and the World Cup by around 15,000)
-Oldest active international "football" competition in the world, having been established in 1883 as##he "Home Nations Championship". (Only the FA##u# ##eals our title for oldest overall active football competition).
-Four different teams have won the championship in the last six years.
-It's been 11 years since the last time a player has won the tournament MVP twice in a row (Ireland's Brian O'Driscoll in 2006 and 2007).
-No team has ever won the competition three times in a row (In the Late 80's France won, tied for first, won and then tied for first again but the statement stands as they technically didn't win four years in a row.)
-No player has ever won the "Player of the Tournament" MVP award three times in a row.

:D. For a bit I wasn't as excited for this years championship for whatever reason, but doing the research for the top part of this post really reminded me just how great this tournament is.

France-England in about 20 minutes but I'll miss it (I'll try to avoid spoilers and see if I can catch a replay later)
