If you could sterilize every religious person on earth with the press of a button, would you do it?

| Yeah I'd purge them all, especially the one with the towels on their heads I think that one's by far brought out most of the negativity, people will blame the media but if you do your research properly you'll find that it's all true. |

if religion didnt exist, science and innovation would sky rocket.
while crime may increase, it can be controlled.
Terrorism would go down drastically.

Minstronomer doesn't realize half the major scientists were Christians
The guy that came up with the entire classification system was Christian
The guy that came up with the process of pasteurization (Lois Pasteur I believe) was Christian)
Isaac Newton

"Without religion you have no morality"
There's no correlation between religion and morals lol.
Those are two separate things.
I have morals and I am not religious. |

You can be a scientist and be christian. That doesn't mean anything.
Crime wouldn't skyrocket. Religion doesn't stop crime, lol. Technology, innovation, etc. would flourish.

| I would not because doing something so drastic would be very unpredictable. It's hard to say what actual effect religion has because it's so widespread. Sure atheists like me exist, but the life experiences that have driven me to that decision and that have shaped my morals without religion may not be reflected in every person in the world. |

Crime would increase because without religion, there is no basis for morality |

I base my morals off I treat others how I would like to be treated.
I don't need god to tell me to not hurt someone.
I don't need god to tell me to be nice to others. I do that myself because I want to portray myself as such.
@Redsox
They're not correlated, though. Religious people may have morals, but that doesn't mean they were brought to them by the power of god.

Morality and religion are two separate entities and do not need each other to survive.
Morality without religion is possible and would be actually be BETTER.
Instead of doing the right thing because you might "go to hell", you're doing the right thing because that is the genuine thing to do. |

In a very general statement yes I would
Morality isn't part of a religion morals vary from person to person and they create their morals based on the society they're raised in the question wouldn't erase society's current morals it would remove the idea that a all powerful being exists leaving the laws and everyone's moral compass the same but with that said some people create their morals around the idea that someone or something greater than them is watching them so we have no idea how this would effect them.
