| windows xp is no longer supported and you can make yourself a decent windows 10 machine for the money you'll be putting into an xp machine |

"windows xp is no longer supported and you can make yourself a decent windows 10 machine for the money you'll be putting into an xp machine" you're implying that i don't have a computer already
i already have a main PC that i'm very happy with, it has a skylake i3 and a gtx 770
i'm just building this because i have a bunch of computer parts and building computers is my hobby

or you could upgrade it to a kaby lake i7-7700K and a GTX 1080 it was worth it for me, only difference between your PC and my old PC it seems was I had a GTX 970 |

" hyperthreading " Sadly enough for 2016 users ( or even lower. ), they get stopped by captchas. |

"or you could upgrade it to a kaby lake i7-7700K and a GTX 1080" maybe i don't have the money to do that, and maybe i'm happy with how it handles all my programs?
i feel no need to get better parts until my computer is too slow to run what i need it to, and it's not
and i already have all the parts to build this windows xp gaming PC and then some, so why are you telling me to buy stuff

i love the 2000s era ATI cards
especially how they were so desperate to get people to buy their cards by putting questionable images on their graphics cards

okay so for all of the people who aren't going to sit here and tell me how i'm wrong about everything, what PC case should i use for this PC? i have a few options
dell dimension 2400 (seems like the best choice for period-correctness and nostalgia) hp compaq d530 sff (i have no power supply for it, would be hardest) lenovo m58e

dimension 2400, brings back memories of my school computer lab lenovo would be easiest to work with but their psus are kinda dodgy (my friend has had 3 die on him so far) so i guess go with the dell |

here's the specs list so far
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 HT @ 2.8GHz (Northwood, 512KB L2 Cache, Socket 478) CPU Cooler: Intel Stock Cooler Motherboard: Intel D865GLC RAM: 2x512MB Kingston DDR400 HDD: Seagate 80GB 7200RPM IDE HDD GPU: MSI GeForce FX 5200 Ultra 128MB AGP Graphics Card PSU: AGI (Hi-Pro) 300-watt ATX Power Supply Case: ??? (most likely going with Dell Dimension 2400)
i'm not too big about the fx 5200 but it's the highest end AGP card that i have and i don't want to buy a better one, i'll probably replace it with an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro in the future though

actually the Lenovo comes with a pretty decent PSU, it's very heavy and all of the capacitors are really high quality Japanese electrolytic caps, even the main filter caps are Rubycon
and it has huge heatsinks
so yeah maybe i got lucky but i still feel like using the Dell Dimension 2400 because the Lenovo was made in 2009
