make a module containing player data, accessible by server and client
but in the module, there is a function to set player data, but the function checks whether its the server or client is calling it, and if its the client, error?

so let them, give the writing data part to be elsewhere only accessible to the server
your call though, depends how its all already set up |

| No, because if the server changes it's not going to change for the client making it pointless. |
