"Who I am is irrelevant. My purpose is to serve and not to be. You are in the Sanctum. It will soon be called the Tomb if we do not move however. You must grab a weapon of your choice and follow my instructions. The danger will wait but I cannot, and without me you will surely perish."
(Also, out of curiosity you're a girl, right? And a human? I could tell that from context clues but I just want to make sure.) |

(Forgot to add one line here)
You see the pile of weapons. In there are any kind of weaposn you can imagine. You see a sword, a spear, and even a staff. And that's only a few. |

(Yes, that is true. I am going as a girl because I have a specific character I had in mind while creating her.) I looked at the pile of weapons. Hmm, what can I take from the pile? There's a wide variety of choices, but I think I knew the best way to go. I took a plain-looking sword to wield in my right hand, and a shield to grasp in my left. Feels nice to be finally armed. "Okay then. What now?" |

| "The danger is powerful, but I have some influence over it. However, the Sanctum forces most of it's powers into dormancy. Due to the lock on it I cannot exert my influence. Take the boat, we need to leave the Sanctum. When it's fully awakened and at it's full power I intend to use whatever energy I have left in my being to gain temporary control and push you to safety. We must hurry though and hope it does not notice our presence too early." |

"All right then..." I began to make my way to the boat, a train of thought flooding my mind as I did so. What did this voice want to do with a girl like me? And what was this danger the voice was talking about? And what happened to my memories? Did someone cast a random spell on me, and I just woke up with amnesia? No, there has to be a logical explanation to this... Right? I pushed the rest of my thoughts out as I continued to head out towards the boat. |

You get to the dock and examine the boat. It takes a while to set in the fact that up close, you see glowing lines on the side of it. It looks enchanted. There also seems to be no oars. The boat may be mobilized completely by magic itself.
You begin to remember some of the basics of magic. Magic is divided into Spells, like fireballs, Enchantments, like the ones on the boat, and Conjuration, which is divided between abilities like summoning monsters and ones that raise the undead. You can only use magic with a wand, staff, or spell-blade, which can only cast weaker magic than the other two.
"Careful steering the boat. The danger lurks in the depths. We will have very little warning beyond the movement of the tides if it notices us. |

(I forgot to mention this is the first ISRP I've ever participated in, so this may or may not end well... Also, this is my last post before going to sleep. Sorry!) Great. So the voice wanted me to steer a boat? I did not know anything about boats whatsoever, so obviously this voice picked the wrong girl as the captain of a ship. If I steered this thing, I would probably end up finding a way to beach it. "Is there any way for you to steer it yourself? Because when it come to boats, I'm not, um... Talented." |

| "The boat responds to your will. If you will it to go forward, it will go forward. I cannot steer it. I've protected you for so long. I have very little of my being left. I must preside within you to survive. I need to store what energy I have left to overcome the danger." |

(Know what? Since you posted so early, I'm going to squeeze this one last post in.) "Alright, then..." I took a deep breath, then imagined the boat moving forwards as I hoped for the best. |

| It does you command. A little faster than you'd expect it to move, but it moves nonetheless. There are numerous paths away from the Sanctum and into ruins. The waters below remain dark and ominous, shelter all secrets from the view above. It smells like salt water. An ocean most likely. |

(What time period is this based upon? Is it during the Greeks' reign?) I looked around and observed the ruins. Whatever destroyed those buildings must have been really strong- probably more than strong enough to blow me out of the water. I shivered, then pushed the thought out of my mind as I continued moving along the straightest path. I didn't want to try to turn the boat because I feared that I'd crash it. |

(Where you are is the ruins of a civilization with no basis on real life historical architecture at all. This is not where the story takes place. Where it does is a heavily fantasy influenced Medieval Europe area. Think of bards and knights)
As you advance through the ruins you feel a large bump. The waves are getting larger and larger as you encounter the rapids that flow through the building. It doesn't look safe to swim here, you probably don't even know if the boat can survive.
"Stop. Something's not right..."
You're in a clearing of the building when the waters all of a sudden start to become more violent. |

"Oh, no..." I didn't think I was skilled enough to maneuver through this at the speed I was going, even with the help of magic. I attempted to will the boat into slowing down, so my chances of getting through this increased. At least, so I thought. |

It does this almost immediately.
The water rises in front of you as massive beast leaps it's head, although only it's head, it looks too heavy for the whole thing, knocking you out of the boat and sending you falling into the depths until your body crashes on a building. Underwater you see a massive black silhouette of some serpentine monster. It's width was nearly twice as big as the building you woke up in and it's length was so long you couldn't see the end was it's tail stood from the black deeps below. When the beast returned it's head to the water you could finally see some of it's color. It looked a darker gray than the buildings, but it looked like it was crafted by the same hands. Actually, you couldn't tell if it was an actual creature. It looked like something that was created from stone and the various magic rune you found on it's body.
"The danger has noticed us! You must escape, now!" |

When the monster attacked, I was almost knocked unconscious, but luckily I stayed up. Who knows what would happen if I got knocked out here? When the voice then spoke, I snapped into action. I probably couldn't kill a serpent with just a sword and shield. I turned, and fled from the creature as quickly as I could. |

The direction you ran was that of the building that you hit, which was the only one there was to run, a fallen tower that rested on another creating a path over the sea.
However, even this was not safe.
Out from the water raised this massive tentacle like thing that forked into two directions that you can only imagine being the monster's tail. It slammed into the building that you were running on, plunging you into the water, which all of a sudden carried you off at a high speed. You realized that you were caught in a riptide. |

Oh, no. A riptide? The last thing I needed was to be in treacherous waters with a monster. If I stayed in the sea for too long, I probably wouldn't live to see another day. Luckily, I was a good swimmer, albeit not one of the best. I would probably have to think this out while I still can. The last thing I should do is swim against the tide- it's too strong to fight. Instead, I should swim perpendicular to it. But which way? I tried to look, but water kept splashing into my eyes. Screw it- I turned to the right and began swimming perpendicular to try to escape. |

You struggle and struggle until at last you grab onto something and pull yourself up. You see that you are on the roof of some building, forming a hexagonal platform surrounded by vicious waters. It is too far to swim in any direction. You are effectively trapped.
The water in one direction begins to surge upward as something moves towards you like a charging bull.
"It's coming!" |

Like that wasn't obvious, right? It would've been nice to have warned me of that BEFORE it emerged. "You could've warned me earlier!" I instinctively yelled into the air before raising my shield, and simply hoping that I didn't get killed by the monster. |

"I didn't think you were so unlucky. It turns out I was right."
The beast rose it's out of the water and over you, and as it did, for some reason, the stone plates expanded, revealing hidden ones beneath it. It's appearance and size both changed, becoming over five times as large as it once was.
"It has fully awakened. You must listen to me, and you must listen now! There are many more of these things like this one of varying different powers and shapes. There is little anyone can do to stop them. Given the chance, they will repeat their sin, and Their Kind will meet their demise over it. There is only one force who can stop it. You must find one of the last of My Kind, one that Their Kind calls Rundere. He and he alone can tell you what you need to do to succeed. This is goodbye." |

"Goodbye?" I was being abandoned at the exactly wrong time? This can't be happening! It's a bad dream, right? Everything will be gone when I wake up, and I'll remember my past. At least, that's what my logical self told me. On the other hand, my gut instinct was that there would be no waking up from this. I just had to do the best I could. Either way, I still had the colossal... Thing to deal with. I backed up until I nearly fell into the water. I had a feeling that I would need all the space between the two of us as I could get. I then fired my only question: "At least can you tell me how to kill this thing?!?!" |

"You can't. A giant construct of stone and magic versus you. You don't stand a chance. I have also determined a more prudent investment to use it to help you."
A white mist in the faint shape of woman pours out of you.
"Goodbye."
The mist infiltrates the monster, taking control of it. All you heard was a roar as it destroys the building, plunging you into the depths.
---
You wake up, soaked and exhausted on a long beach. You have barely moments to recover yourself before you hear someone say behind you, "You're awake!" |

| I burst into a fit of coughing and sputtering when I woke up as I tried to look around and take in my surroundings. When I heard someone speak behind me, I immediately turned around to face the speaker as I tried to remember where my weapons had went. Without my weapons, I feel extremely vulnerable... |

You weapons lied next to the speaker. He was a tall man, easily well into his 40's. He wore black robes with black leather gloves and boots, his hair, a dusty brown color with many large grey streak, was grown out and pulled into a ponytail, his facial hair covering the whole of his neck.
"Calm down. You've only been on shore for an hour. You shouldn't strain yourself, not after your ordeal. Any other man would've died floating around in the oceans like that. For a minute I had actually thought you dead. You're lucky I'm a doctor and not an undertaker." |
