People only notice me when I wear makeup and dress up.
But when I dress comfortably (things I like to wear in general- tshirt and jeans) no one takes a 2nd look. Plus I'm average looking (closer to ugly), so no boys care about my existence.
I'm still debating whether I'm doing this for myself or for people's attention. I do feel confident with makeup and the attention is a plus.
But wearing makeup and dressing up can get kinda uncomfortable... constantly worrying if my eyeliner is smeared or worrying if my skirt covers my underpants.
In a way, I want to prove to them I'm better than them. I'm better than what they think I am. Because I know I look like a freakin doll when I dress up, literally.

Up to you, high school is essentially irrelevant, you'll forget about most of your friends and move on with your life after it, so enjoy it while it lasts.
Looks are part of life, people will judge you based on how you look, if you wish to be successful use that to your advantage. |

| well, is it FUN for you to do your makeup and to dress up, is it something you genuinely enjoy? do you feel happier when you are wearing makeup? you need to make sure that you are doing this for yourself, not other people. theres no reason to try to change yourself so that you appeal to other peoples standards. if you are comfortable and happy #### ######### other people will be too. hi im hayden, im short and fall down regularly. |

| If you feel as if it is necessary or beneficial for you to do so I see no reason not to. |

| Do what you like and what's comfortable. What stupid boys think doesn't matter. I know the feeling of my normal apparel not being good enough--or at least in my opinion. But over the years I've learned that personality matters more than looks. So, if you are confident and comfortable with what you are wearing--even if it's just jeans and a t-shirt--how people look at you will change. I don't like rating people on a scale, but let's say you're a 4/10 (on the low end of average), if you act with the cool confidence of a bad ### then people will take notice. If you are comfortable in your clothes and skin you will be above 8/10 people your age. There's nothing wrong with makeup or dressing up. I always like the saying "look good, feel good." Some days putting in the extra effort helps. But it's not necessary so long as you have your baseline figured out. I hope that helps. |

So I didn't realize you were in college, but I feel like the 8/10 figure is still pretty accurate. And maybe more so about stupid boys.
