Long story short, players will have the option to disable filter, but this will put a 13+ age limit to the game you disable filters on. |

You guys, this might also mean that censorship is less strict in filtering-disabled games!
Also roblox, if any of you guys are reading this post, could you let me make the game that's "Under Review" inactive? I uploaded a new version with ALL the stuff that didn't censor removed as requested. I am also in process of readding these stuff, with the filter enabled. |

LOL. ROBLOX isn't allowing you to disable the filter. They are talking about Filtering Enabled:
http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=FilteringEnabled_with_the_Client-Server_Model
This is for scripters. Filtering Enabled pretty much keeps your game safe from hackers.

News flash: FilteringEnabled is used for scripters in order to protect your game from exploits. It has absolutely nothing to do with the chat filter.

So it goes on the top of the forum.
@RangerLaina Games go 'Under Review' to make sure the game is using a proper filter that ROBLOX provides. Like GUIs (graphical user interface) could have a bad word on them and it will not filter, so ROBLOX is just checking if your game is safe for all.

That is not at all what they said. Here's a quick rundown:
•Filtering text is now necessary or your game will be taken down. •Games that do not have FilteringEnabled (this has nothing to do with the chat filter, it's basically exploit protection) will not be available to users under 13.
This means the filter is going to be staying. |

| Well, I believe they are requiring Filtering-Enabled because exploiters can bypass the filter with inserting things #### ## ##### changing chat, etc. |

| Do I look like an idiot to you guys? I already know what FilteringEnabled is. But if they make a game 13+, I think that it will make the censorship less strict. Otherwise, ### ### #### would I be on the Scripters forum if I didn't know script stuff? |

| We weren't directly talking to you. The filtering is already less strict for accounts that are over 13 anyways. |

Stupid. FE can ruin local scripts. You're going to tell me now, that we have to potentially limit our developing if we want our games to be open to all ages?
Btw, FE has nothing to do with filtering chat at all. Lol! |

You guys don't understand FE because you probably don't script, so let me put it into detail:
If anybody actually wanted to make a 13+ game, they would leave FE on. With it off, there will be tons of 9-year-old "hackers" breaking the game. Why? Because FE stops changes made from the client to replicating to the server, meaning that anything a hacker does (with a few exceptions) will not show up for everybody else.
So anybody who leaves FE off just for the sake of having a 13+ game is A) Being stupid and B) Pretty much putting a neon "HACK ME" sign up. |

@Intended "Your game is safe! But it doesn’t necessarily work. The same filter that keeps your game safe from hackers will also affect your own local scripts. Whether you’re building a game from scratch or converting an old game to be FilteringEnabled, you cannot have local scripts that touch the Workspace themselves. This may seem problematic because there are a lot of awesome reasons for local scripts to want to change the Workspace. The solution here is to ask server scripts to make these changes on the local script’s behalf. This can be done by using 'RemoteFunctions' and 'RemoteEvents'. "
So it does, you can fix it but it requires some reading up on the wiki which is a pain in the you know what. Unnecessary. |

i think you badly misinterpreted the thread
1. filteringenabled has NOTHING to do with the chat filter (it's an anti-exploit method)
2. that devpost said that they're going to make filteringenabled required for any user under thirteen, not that they're making a disabled alternative |
