not true at all.

there's no reason for them to make you sick, unless you're talking about showering in like ice water.

No. I like to take cold showers after practices. Helps cool my body down and get ready to sleep.

i highly doubt they're in the ice bath for more than 1-5 minutes, and the body of a professional athlete is far, far different from yours or most peoples. i'd also wager there is also quite a difference between a shower and a bath in terms of health. personally i would take a cold shower after i came home from basketball when i played it (i've talked about this before, no subs so i was on for most of the game) and it was really nice. it helped me cool down and revitalized me. in regards to muscle recovery i wouldn't know at all but i never had any significant issues after games #### ## #### and i was pushing myself to my physical limits. that's all anecdotal though. good luck with that (no sarcasm), but please don't be one of those idiots who rely on becoming a professional athlete so much that they ignore your education, and when they fall short end up being ####ed for the rest of their life.

you're just incredibly unlikely to earn enough money to even be considered a professional athlete, much less be able to retire without taking up another job for the rest of your life afterwards. the last thing you'll want to do after retiring from sports is taking up more physical labour, since an uneducated worker would end up having to do that.

when did i ever say that you were doing it for the money? in the end you have to earn enough money or you won't be able to do it...

and that's good, but make sure you stay focused and try to get a college degree in something. that way if you end up having a professional sports career until you're 40 and then need it to avoid going into hard labour jobs, you can use it to either get back t college to renew it (which you'd likely have to) or get straight into the field if you're lucky enough.

of course what i'm saying may be completely invalidated if universal basic income comes into play but it's always best to have a security net.

"well i'm gonna be the next griezmann"

not trying to say you don't have any skill or potential to be good but don't fool yourself lad, if you were even close to that you'd already be at an academy for one of the big clubs in europe...

I remember being in 7th grade thinking I was legitimately going to become a professional soccer player...and I would always think to myself "I'm gonna do whatever it takes, I'll play in Africa if I have to, or the middle east"

then I realized how the real world works qq

and that I was playing AYSO ROFL !

If you are going to do ice baths please seek guidance from someone informed about what the water temperature should be, etc. because you also don't want to freeze in there.
