Getting a desktop is way better than getting a laptop.
The portability is cool until you realize you can buy a desktop that has 10x the power.
As for laptops, Alienware seems to be the only option for gaming laptops in the $500-800 range. |

I doubt you can find a decent gaming laptop at 850$
This might annoy you a bit but...
why don't you build GTX 1060 6GB powered build at around that cost? It's much better in performance per price value than a gaming laptop. |

| I would build a pc over getting a laptop. I say this because the first "gaming" pc I had was a laptop and it was rough to say the least. It was fine for the first few years but over time it didn't preform at the standard that I wanted it at so I have to get an entirely new system. 1. You'll get better performance on a desktop. 2. more future proof since it is easy to swap out parts (instead of having to replace the whole machine) 3. It's better to have a desktop for gaming/production than a #### ### all trades laptop. If you from how to house allot I would recommend building a small forum factor pc. |

No, you basically get a computer tower and just throw parts into it. Not actually throw them into it, but hook them up to a motherboard inside of the tower. I just use a pre-built PC and stuck in my RX 480 since it's cheaper than buying a whole new PC and if I get a CPU, I plan to do the same.

Oh, and I also replaced the power supply with another one. Maybe I'll buy a cool looking tower someday.

| Oh you should get an MSI or a Razor instead of an Alienware. |

For around $900-1000 you can probably get a laptop with an i7 6700HQ and a 960M.

| I'm Canadian so I don't know if I can help you. But if you're looking for something affordable, go with something that has a 1050 in it. But that might be out of your price range since it's probably 1000-1100 USD. I got my laptop for about 1500 Canadian and it has a GTX 960M in it with an I7 6700HQ. So the ones with a GTX M in the title would be around your range. |

Unless you're also going to use that laptop for school or taken with you a lot, get yourself a desktop instead. Smaller and more efficient.

Might as well build a desktop. It's easier to manage prices, its cheaper as well as a bunch of other advantages.

Just build a PC, so much better; or, if you don't know how and don't wish to, even buy one prebuilt from like ebay or amazon. Laptops are pretty meh honestly; even brands like Alienware are a huge Rip-Off.
