What are some ways to increase the amount of people to attend an event?
already done: 1. sent some pm's, not botted 2. shouted 2 days in advance
more ideas would be appreciated

isn't really much else you can do apart from what you're doing
the issue might be that you're not hosting high enough quality events, so people are not motivated enough to attend.

| Well, set standards for your group as in, exile inactives every 1, 2, or 3 weeks. |

this is the first event i've hosted for this group and i'm planning to make it very good.
group just had a leadership change and the new leader has voiced concerns to me about an activity decrease due to the sudden change

just give it time then
keep doing what you're doing and you should see results after a while

Also, shouting 2 days in advance is far too much. Most people read the shout within the first hour anyway.
Your group should be actively hosting events, 1 or more events each day.
If your group doesn't have a Discord or Skype, I highly recommend you set at least one of those up so you can notify members of events.

Shouting a day in advance typically works.
Same goes with letting individual members know.
Also, keep the group page active. What tend to happens is people check the group page and check each individual group to see if anything has changed.
Whether that be the shout, or both the shout and the group wall. Keep conversations flowing, it will keep your members interested. |

actively utilizing a discord server is great way to keep people connected and informed
it has the same benefits as teamspeak3 however people that are online are always there, meaning an announcements or shouts channel will also go a mile towards attendance boost

discord is great too.
it gives people notifications every time a member chats or when a notification is sent out
good point, aero |

With activity at an all-time low for the group and hardly any events being held due to the leadership change and dev work, 2 days in advance I felt was most necessary. 1 day in advance I didn't think would be enough time for everyone to see it(considering most of the group is less-experienced clan members such as 3.0's) also with the fact we don't have a discord yet.
and yeah I agree the group needs a discord or skype. I'll be talking to the leader about that if he doesn't have it in mind already.

Exiling inactives is the most counterproductive thing people do lmao
Never ever do that |

Dystra, by exiling inactive members, it gives the rest of your members motivation to stay active. If they really are loyal to the group, they will stay active; Unless there's an issue in real life.
It also helps organize the clan, because who wants to deal with 10,000 noobs just sitting there doing nothing?
What's the point in joining the clan if you aren't going to do anything? |

well first off it's a very laid back clan. none of us believe in an over-strict environment where the members view it as a chore to attend events. we want the group to be fun.

Yes, collin. But the members won't experience any "fun" if they don't attend events.
Now dealing with a superclan that's over 100k members, you'd need an exile bot to actually be effective, which is why I can understand you just want to leave it alone. |

| Also, some people have the opinion of strict groups being fun, like myself. You're implying that no one likes strict groups, and the -ONLY- fun events are the laid back ones. |

yeah i realize some people like some strict groups. Myself included, actually.
but that isn't what we're aiming at. if you like strict groups, as said in the "new era" thread you can leave
our #1 goal is to make it laid back and thats what i intend to do

I understand that, and really with a superclan you shouldn't be strict anyway because of the noobs in there.
One more tip, have your members form bonds and relationships with each other. Will actually create activity but it could backfire if someone leaves then the rest follow, but that's just an unloyal move anyway. |

i'll give you some tips, from a fellow laid back leader
launched my group today, the Imperial Star Regiment.
had three clans raid us today, myth revarian forces and IoM
14+ at each event
what I do is PM bot groups tell them to come to my recruitment center or whatever and just recruit them from there really more effective |

I advise you not to exile inactives
Your member count is an effective way to attract new members

Good point, Villain.
But only the experienced members are aware that size does not mean a group is better. Most of the people who join because of member size are noobs anyway. |
