D: scared, like beyond nervous. I'm a decent player and been playing on my own for 12 years now, but always slip up when in public
Gonna be playing these

| Good luck. Drink a tax bit of "grape juice" beforehand; just a little to calm the nerves without it causing you to forget things |

Started piano when I was in 3rd grade, dropped it at the end of 6th grade, and picked it up last year. I've been working on this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WolqGAgiolM) most recently. Kinda out of my league, but I have the opening part pretty good. Only up to about 0:25 though and ive been working on it for a little while now so the progress has been slow but the challenge has been enjoyable.

Good luck @ Eb, I attempted to learn that a couple years ago and it's one of the hardest songs I've ever attempted to play, gave up after about a month out of boredom and simply got tired of failure
The hardest part for me was whenever I get to about the 1:00 mark my left hand is completely exhausted and can't really go on anymore, felt like the song was literally impossible (my left hand is very, very, weak compared to my right hand though...right hand I am as good as anybody, left hand significantly behind where I should be. The downside of never having a teacher D:) |

| Knuckles? Never really noticed anything with 'em. The fatigue will usually be felt along my forearm, usually a bit down from my wrist, on the bottom of the forearm. You can feel your arm and fingers starting to tighten up and it's harder to play fast (which is key in the song eb linked) |

poor practicing habits when i was doing lessons has caused me to be worse with my left hand than my right. Struggle to read the bass clef now its incredibly rusty.

i suppose the key to playing a song like that in its entirety is to get used to the song enough that you can keep your hands relaxed while playing.

Ugh tell me about it lol, I've played with the wrong technique for 10 years now
got a teacher 2 weeks ago, hopefully can finally fix. Technique will be very important as you get into harder songs, it's held me back a bit |

I've found to be playing on stage much easier than anything else.
On stage, you can NOT see the crowd outside of some shadows simply due to the stage lights, so you really can't get all that nervous |

YES @ Deadman
there's a performing arts center for my school district and whenever you're up on the big stage at the auditorium, all the lights blind you out that it pretty much just feels as if it's only you there |

Of course you are.
But once you're on stage and you realize you can't see a single person, it's much, much easier.
I for the life of me couldn't perform well on stage when practicing infront of an audience for a show because I could see them
As soon as it was showtime and I got on stage, I was at my best. |

Bad game TBH .
"Wait why do you have to do this? I hope I didn't miss the answer somewhere on this thread"
VP of a school/out-of-school club that plays at various charitable events. Our president got this set up cause he's got the connections and I'm the reliable guy who never misses an event

Unfortunately I think this is going to be in a well-lit auditorium and I'll be on the same level as everyone else. Idk man, whenever I play in public I can't focus on the song and always wonder if I'm up to par. It doesn't help that the president of our club is an amazing piano player and we are the only 2 pianists in the group, so I feel like I always look a lot less impressive compared to him. |
