Well, thanks... I would have the full version active, but it kept getting dislikes. It had a title screen and a lot more gamemodes, too. But people rarely got past it before disliking. I was going to replace all the levels with non-free modeled ones, but it's a lot of work and I'm not even sure it'd be worth it since the players rarely got past the main menu. Some players seemed to be joining just so they could dislike it. BTW, I made all the enemies and greatly modified the guns. I did 9/10 of the scripting and I rarely used a free model without fixing it and customizing it to fit into the game better. I've learned more about scripting from making this game than I ever would have thought possible.
IDK what to do at this point...
You seem to be a nice person... So, what do you think I should do? |

@ra208950 I would reactivate the full version, but every time I reactivate it, it gets another dislike. Eventually, it had 16 likes and 7 dislikes. And only the dislikes were going up, no one was giving it likes.
This game is WAY more fun to play with other players, but who's going to play a game with almost 50% of the ratings being dislikes?
Also, most of the players quit the game before getting past the title screen. And most of the players who did this gave the game a dislike.
I really don't get why the players can't get past a simple gamemode select menu without disliking. Some of the players seem to be joining simply so that they can dislike it(ROBLOX requires you to play a game before rating it).
So, the game I have up right now is ONLY A COPY of the coop gamemode. I did that to stop the dislikes on the main game while still allowing players to play coop if they want.
I really need to find a way to stop the dislikes. Until then, the full game won't be playable.

Read my last comment.
The reason I'm not working on replacing the maps with non-free-modeled maps right now is because players rarely ever got past the gamemode selection menu before disliking the game. I'm pretty convinced right now that some players are playing the game just so that they can dislike it.
I don't think it would be worth it to put so much effort into making non-free-modeled maps if I'll just get more dislikes from people who can't even make it past a single menu.

So, does anyone have any ideas as to why people almost always quit and give a dislike before getting past the menu?
By the way, just wondering, has anybody got far enough in the game to get the gatling riot gun or get shot down in the helicopter yet?

Is this your first game? It's a lot better than my first game, you used free models incredibly well actually. Nice implementation of scripts, GUIs, lighting as well!
In a year or so your dev skills will be great if you practice more!

It may be my first game, but it's definitely not my first attempt at making a game. This is the only game I've made that I've actually liked enough to keep developing it.
A lot of my "Attempts" were just testing game features(like randomly spawning enemies), or were otherwise just completely random.
My dev skills are great(and will only continue to get better), I just need to get better at building(and coming up with concepts for game levels)... And I need to find a way to stop all the dislikes that were hitting the original full version.
IDK why, but so many players would dislike the game without even passing the main menu...
I guess menus are too advanced for them...

Well, I still have no idea how I could stop the dislikes on the full version. I'll continue making the non-free-modeled levels and I'll replace the old original levels when I'm done. Then, maybe I'll activate the full version.
Hopefully, when I reactivate it there won't be too many more players who dislike without making it past the title screen.
Also, none of you have gotten past the second level (I can tell because developer stats shows that no one played for more than 8 minutes). If anyone wants to try to beat my high score, I got to the current end of the game (when you open the gate with the gold key) with only a total of 2 deaths.
By the way, thanks for the support!!! Before I made this thread, I had no idea that this many people genuinely thought the game was ok.

I'm starting to realize that I'm not that great at coming up with concepts for maps... I can definitely build a map, but IDK what the theme of the map should be or what to put in it...
I guess I should draw it out before making it.

Yep, just got another dislike.
I want to get to the point where I can have at least 4 players on at all times(this game is REALLY fun with other players, it's meant for coop).
Lately, I haven't been able to play multiplayer on the original Shadow Warrior (made in 1997) because I can't port forward on my new router. And I was hoping this game could be a graphically improved way to play with other players online.
But, who's going to join the game if it has such a bad like to dislike ratio? Hardly anyone even passes the title screen without disliking... And yet, all these role play game creators with simple, easy to script, games are the ones getting players and money 24/7.
I'm not going to stop making it, but I don't want to keep getting these dislikes...

Nah, collaboration's not really my thing. (teams slow me down) But maybe I'll ask you for help if I need something small built.
Besides, I'm the only one who can really ensure that the models live up to my standards. And now that I'm building without free models, I feel like I have a little more freedom in how I want things to function and fit in. (But maybe a little too much... Starting with a blank slate and coming up with a whole map is a hard process and my mind often draws a blank)
I've decided that the new maps will be expanded, glorified, and graphically improved versions of the maps from the original game made in 1997.The new maps will have TONS of features like sliding doors, more buildings, trains, more keys and locked doors, and possibly even cutscenes. (but I don't know how cutscenes could work well in coop)
