I made a thread about this a long time ago. It died.

Basically:
-Owners of groups can create their own currencies for their use.

-Group currencies are infinite. Users with permission may distribute their group's currency freely.

-Users with permission may sell dev products, gamepasses, paid access and user clothing in the group's currency. (User clothing is a bit iffy, as clothing copiers exist.)

-All users may buy said items with their respective group currencies.

-The currencies have their own economies, and do not interact with ROBUX in any way.

I don't know how this could hurt ROBLOX in any way, aside from clothing copiers and the time it'd take to develop.

The only way I find this to be useful would be for war groups. Because, they want their users to be able to have uniforms when raiding. So what they can do instead is script their own, much better in-game currency that the owner can distribute to them, and then they can use them to buy an in-game uniform for when fighting.

how would roblox keep track of the currencies, and where are they stored? even small bits of data take up serverspace and roblox doesnt have infinite dataservices.

If ROBLOX can handle all the user-generated ads, products, assets and /especially/ games as well as the now infinite amount of playerpoints, it shouldn't be as big a problem as it would be if nobody paid to keep the site up

I don't know what people are talking about with "How will ROBLOX keep track of it?"

ROBLOX doesn't need to keep track of it, the group owner/HRs in a group will. All ROBLOX has to do is allow them to make their own currency, and then the group owners do the rest of the stuff that you can do with currency.

player points are one value in a database. with the infinite currencies that you want made, an infinite amount of values has to be made for each user on roblox. keep in mind that there are 50k new users everyday.

i could really say the same about values in games

and it should work exactly how it does with games
the system won't start tracking player-specific values in games until they've played the game
likewise, the system shouldn't start tracking the currency a user has until they actually have the currency
