All employees or prospective employees of the National Health Service for Scotland are expected to read this document and know the basic sections of administration and legislation required for their work sector.
Emergency Response:
Emergency Response Trainee's CAN go on duty however they WILL NOT drive, unless there are no other high ranks in the server. If there are no other HR's in the server, Trainee's must drive an ambulance. (Found next to the Main Depot).
All Emergency Responders or Trainee ER's must know the following codes:
Sierra Alpha (SA) (No.):- Callsign Assigned by Dispatch or a Senior Paramedic (E.g. SA-1)
CAT (CATEGORY) A1/2/3:- Level of Response, 1 is the most serious, 3 is the least serious.
Status Green:- Available for Calls Status Red:- Unavailable for Calls (State a reason if asked) Status Blue:- Patient in Transit to Hospital/Clinic
The Emergency Response Sector uses some of the Standardised Radio Codes. Status 0 (Orange Button on the Radio):- Danger Posed to Yourself or a Patient. State your location for Immediate Assistance. Status 1:- Online Status 11:- Offline Status 15:- Received
Hospital Services:
Hospital Services Trainee's are expected to fulfill the role of a NURSE if within a Hospital or Clinic. They are to assist official staff or deal with minor cases. If a Trainee for HS requires support, they may ask Emergency Response for help.
Hospital Service is mainly general courtesy towards any and every member of the public who needs medical attention, whether it's from the GP's surgery or Accident and Emergency.
These are two examples of do's and don't when dealing with the public as a Doctor:
Patient: My leg hurts. Doctor: You're in a game, get out.
This is WRONG, however if a patient has been harassing you with this information, notify a member of the police as a 101 call.
Patient: My leg hurts. Doctor: Alright then, can you sit on the bed please and I'll take a look at it.
This is the CORRECT way to deal with this situation.
You can refer patients to other departments, such as referring a patient to the Hospital for a scan.
General Courtesy and Professionalism:
All National Health Service Employees are expected to have an adept medical knowledge. All National Health Service Employees are expected to speak with accurate grammar and punctuation, unless speaking colloquially. |
