"He initially losses 100 dollars. Brenda exchanges 70 of the stolen money for 70 dollars worth of merchandise Brenda now has 30 dollars and 70 dollars worth of merchandise Jimmy now has 30 dollars, but is missing 70 dollars worth of merchandise"
she may have taken merch that costed $70 but it didn't cost Jimmy $70 to buy it for his store so technically he did not lost $100 |

I love that all of you are now digging into the economics of Jimmy's store.
In my opinion, the correct answer is C) $100 - for the combined value of $30 + the $70 that Brenda essentially stole.
But you all are getting at some very interesting nuances of the problem. Truly, Jimmy only lost $30 cash, but what is the actual value of the merch that was stolen?
Why is no one talking about how this will impact the price of the gallon of milk that Tina will have to buy? Jimmy has to recoup his lost profits somewhere and that will surely get passed onto the honest customers. Gawd Brenda is awful. |

I can just see OP eating popcorn while we debate which answer is right. I find this fun too, OP.

I would love to see someone make a really complex equation on how much Jimmy lost. That would be interesting.

scenario 3
jimmy turns around when brenda was leaving with the 100$, and transforms into a super saiyan. he pounces after brenda and throws timebombs at her car, exploding it. jimmy jumps onto brenda and claws her in the face several times until she is bleeding from her *everywhere* and dies. jimmy is later arrested for second degree murder.
therefore, he loses $200 (f) for second degree murder. he lost that much because of the bounty for jailtime. |

| @Shockism, getting thrown into jail is really bad for business. You do not end up passing Go, or collecting $200. |

I'm sorry to say that this is invalid, it's actually I) Everything because going to jail = lost freedom = losing the shop. :^)
