*TS OPERATOR - Uniformed police officer, answers in coming phone calls. And greets in coming visitors. Guiding people to city resources, and dispatching officers to non emergency calls.
*COMPLAINT ROOM - Civilian staff, rank of Police Administrative aid. Performe duties under the command of desk officer.
*DESK OFFICER - Sgt, or Lt. Stationed at the commands main desk for tour of duty. Supervising officers within the station house. Processing arrests, In taking release of property and Maintaining command log.
*PLATOON COMMANDER - Take care of all platoon personnel, they supervise Sergeants on the platoon. And advise and confirm with the commanding officer. I.e. crime control strategies.
*EXECUTIVE OFFICER - Presenting the Command at Department and community meetings. XO performs the functions of the executive officer in their absence. Aids the CO with professional judgement and does regular checks on the Precincts command. --------------------------- KEY TERMS ---------------------------------------------------- PLATOON: On each platoon, there is a formal role call conducted. *Platoon commanders make sure all officers have a professional appearance and all the uniform requirements are met. PATROL SUPERVISOR - Sergeant, Supervises all police field operations in the tour of duty. Brief on crime issues, hot spots, community concerns etc.
INTEGRITY CONTROL OFFICER - (ICO) - Lt, and frequently attends role calls. The ISO Officer monitors the Officers performance in the station house, and in the field. He/She is in charge of ensuring the highest level of professionalism and integrity from all personnel.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS LT - (SOL) - Assists the commanding officer -Maintains close contact with: Community Civic Groups Schools (Share information, addressing crime and quality of life conditions) He or she supervises the command specialized units including: -Anti Crime team -Domestic Violence Unit -School safety team -Youth Officers -Traffic officers -Crime safety officers Each command deploys individuals who regularly patrol in uniform and in plain clothes, who patrol in unmarked and marked vehicles.
ANTI CRIME SERGEANT - Regularly speaks with the commanding officer to identify crime patterns and inform the Commanding officer
Domestic Violence Prevention Officer - deals with domestic violence, Domestic violence officers work with people who have experienced domestic violence. These officers review complaint reports, and domestic incident reports.
School Safety Sergeant - Works with Youth and ensure school safety. Work closely with school safety agents.
Crime prevention officer - Analyses crime occurring within the command. They conduct professional security surveys for households and businesses at no cost. CPO's speak at community meetings.
Traffic safety officer - Analyse reports and investigates accidents and collisions, They bring awareness to the community.
Community Affairs Officers - Vital role in each command, states the needs in each community Open line of communication with the public Attends meetings with community councils and events
NYPD detectives - All precincts contain a detective squad. Primary role to solve cases and to interview witnesses. |
