it means nothing in lua, you don't have to put it there in other languages it is necessary, or you'll get a syntax error

| I would consider it good practice, myself. :) I think it makes code look prettier as well. |

It doesn't mean newline, in-fact I doubt it even partakes in the compiler.
I use it, because it looks good. |

| While it isn't, it works more as a break. Having no real use but making stuff pretty and getting rid of occasional ambiguity. |
