when the hammerhead corvette rammed the star destroyer into the shield gate the star destroy would've crtashed into the planet with enough force to destroy at least the base |

maybe its cuz the death star got the planet first

assuming the planet has the same gravity as earth and that a
star destroyer weighs 9484425000000 kilograms density of air is 1.225 kg/m3 acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 surface area of the bottom of the star destroyer is roughly 201911000/2.4 (assuming its falling flat down and not from the nose)
being generous a friction coefficient of 1.9 if it's falling on it's belly
so then we get the terminal velocity of the death star falling on it's belly
V=sqrt(2mg/PAC)
so at terminal velocity it would be travelling 975 meters per second
okay then we want the kinetic energy at terminal velocity which is Ek=1/2*m*v^2
so we get a Kinetic energy of 4.5x10^18 joules which is equivalent to 1000 nuclear bombs going off

| ramming a ship into a planet at near relativistic speeds (or even way less, think asteroids) would have the same effect as a death star |

| obviously the ship would break up upon entry, but it would be too late by then |

did you actually know all of this information yourself or did you look up the calculations
because I remember learning a similar process in chemistry with force, pressure, and volume/surface area |

| i just did some simple terminal velocity and kinetic energy calculations, I assumed some of the values |

so you knew the calculations in if you were to directly respond to my question
knew the calculations and how to solve for the next piece* |

like i said I learned something similiar just not with kinetic energy and velocity
i had a real hard time grasping the concept in chemistry for whatever reason |

the funny thing is, is that I am more of a linear learner.
i excel better in chemistry and algebra 2 than I would biology and geometry
physics I heard was hard so I'm stopping at after chemistry |

what bothers me more was why princess leia was in the battle of scarif..
she's not a commander, it doesn't make sense for her to be there..... |
