Ok, so what if you want two or more objects to not collide with each other, but collide with everything else? Well I propose the following idea:
A new object (called CollisionPreventer or something) which is used for this very purpose. It would have the following methods:
AddObject - You provide a single object to be added to the list of objects which do not collide with each other AddObjectList - Same as above, but you provide a table instead. RemoveObject - You provide an object you want to remove collision prevention from GetObjects - Returns a table containing all the current objects who will not collide with each other
And the following events:
ObjectAdded(object) - Fired when an object is added to the list with AddObject or AddObjectList ObjectRemoved(object, isDestroyed) - Fired when an object is removed from the list, with the second value being if the object was moved because Destroy was called on it (Or if it fell out of the world or was removed when a Player's character was removed, if they do not already use Destroy)
Uses: No collision between players, if you want them to walk through each other No clipping through certain walls for certain players (Think: Darkness, but where the enemy can go through certain objects) Object-specific forcefields (Players can walk through, but not vehicles, like in Halo)
