Welcome to the Murder Mystery 2 Guide! This is where I will put my complete knowledge of Murder Mystery 2, and any information that I gather later will be placed in this thread as well. Let's begin!
*****List of the top ten best weapon skins*****
1. Corrupt (Knife) [Obtained by trading only] 2. Heat (Knife) [Obtained by trading or MLG] 3. Saw (Knife) [Obtained by trading or Knife Box 3] 4. Laser (Gun) [Obtained by trading or Gun Box 3] 5. Shark (Gun) [Obtained by trading or Gun Box 2] 6. Fang (Knife) [Obtained by trading or Knife Box 2] 7. Death Shard (Knife) [Obtained by trading or Knife Box 1] 8. Luger (Gun) [Obtained by trading or Gun Box 1] 9. Seer (Knife) [Obtained by trading or crafting] 10. Elite (Knife) [Obtained by trading or purchasing Elite pass]
*****Knife values for trading purposes*****
Seer is often used as the main currency for trading Pink items. Because of this, skins are often valued to be worth 'x' amount of seers. A skin can be worth more than four seers, in which case a knife more valuable then seer can be used as payment. Knife values are shown below. Values are not based on ROBLOX or Murder Mystery 2 Currency, and are instead based on a popularity value. It should be noted that values can fluctuate greatly from player to player, as some players may enjoy one skin more than another. Anything noteworthy will be included.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Corrupt : 14000 Heat : 9600 Saw : 8000 Laser : 7600 - Of pink rarity Shark : 7000 Fang : 5900 Death Shard : 3200 Luger : 3000 Seer : 1000 America : 800 Golden : 750 Blood : 750 Cowboy : 600 Prince : 530 Shadow : 500 Overseer : 500 - Crafted knife Elite : 500 - Of yellow rarity Predator : 490 - Crafted knife Emerald : 480 - Crafted knife Laser : 470 Phaser : 420 Sparkle : 420 - Crafted gun Midnight : 400 - Crafted knife Ghost : 390 Splitter : 390 MLG : 350 - Rarest red knife from crate Doge : 300 - Strangely this is a very popular knife
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No other knife is worth putting on this list, as the values of all greens, blues, and whites will vary greatly from person to person. As a general rule, greens are worth 150, blues are worth 125, and whites are worth 50.
*****What to trade and when to trade it*****
Many people will obtain many reds and a few yellow items before getting their first pink item. The issue here is that a lot of players think that getting a box to produce a pink item is easy. It isn't. In fact, the minimum chance of a pink coming out of a box is estimated at 1 out of 500. Seer is usually the first pink item that a player will get. In order to use it properly, you'll have to trade it. It's simply how it works, if you want a profit, you have to earn it. Seer can be traded for a lot of things, but it isn't worth any other pink item on its own. But how do you get seer in the first place?
The answer is very simple. You can craft it, or you can trade for it. Trading for it is not as hard as you think. Many new players who first get seer are completely unwilling to trade seer for anything, but don't worry, more experienced players will trade seer for a sorts of items. Yellow items are incredibly popular, as they can only be obtained through trades. When you get the chance, try trading for some yellow items, such as Splitter or Ghost. You can work your way up pretty easily, as most players have specific yellow items that they want to get.
"I still don't have a seer, and I've been crafting and trading for a long time." Don't worry, keep crafting, and try trading for knives that you need in order to craft. It's a lot easier to get the basic pieces than it is to get the crafted item, which is true for every crafted item.
"I have seer, but I don't know what to trade it for." If you are having trouble trading seer, or your afraid you will get a bad deal, look at the chart above. If I were you, I would hang on to your first seer until you can get another one. When that happens, try trading for a death shard as soon as possible, because most player will accept two seers and a yellow as payment for Death Shard.
"I have plenty of good items, but nobody wants to give me a seer." If you have plenty of good items, you can get a seer if you act professional and really know what you want to give. Make sure that when you offer a trade, the value you are giving is slightly less than or equal to the value you are receiving. Never trade down in value. Also note that not all reds are equal, as goes with any other rarity level.
If you obtain more than one seer, or a higher value skin, you will find it will be easy to profit off of people, because many new players don't realize that not all pinks are equal, and may give you a Death Shard or a Luger for one seer. It is important that you are not one of those people. However, it is not wrong of you to take advantage of their lack of knowledge, because that is simply how the game is played. If you have ever made a bad trade that you regret, do not hold a grudge against the trader. Instead, learn from both of your actions and resolve to become more aware of the value of your items, and act according to those values.
If you do end up getting a great deal for an item, some people may notice it and say that you had a much better profit than the other person. Often times this leads to accusations, such as being called a scammer. Ignore these, and if you can, swap servers. These chants don't die down quickly, and you won't get good trades if everyone is jumping on your back like this. Also note that if you see people doing this to someone else, they may be wrong. Never base your trust on any opinion other than your own, but do not trade without caution.
*****Scams and how to avoid them*****
If you are a scammer, the easiest way to avoid scams is to stop scamming.
A scam is anything that causes one person in a trade to be tricked or swindled out of something with a trade that was not expected or agreed upon.
In order to avoid scams, take the following precautions:
A) Never accept a trade before the other person does B) Don't ever try to double click the accept button in a trade C) Don't fall for deals that are way too good to be true D) Check your trader's inventory to validate that he can trade what he offers
Here is a list of common scenarios that you should be very cautious in:
A player is running around to everyone asking to trade a very valuable item for a rock bottom price. He may say that he is on an iPad or some mobile device, and that he needs you to hit accept as many times as you can otherwise his iPad malfunctions and declines the trade. Do not believe him. ROBLOX games all have a basic default compatibility with mobile devices, and while there are some bugs that transfer, there is no way that any mobile device could immediately decline a trade after hitting 'accept', unless there was a human error.
A player is running around saying that he can 'dupe' items, he just needs you to give him any item and he'll give you back some more. This is completely false. Never fall for this popular scam, as it is just not possible to create a knife through a glitch. Knives are added into the game when a player opens a crate or joins for the first time. The trading process does not create knives, it simply takes your offer and swaps it over to the other player and vice versa. The common belief is that trade offers are replicated in your inventory before being destroyed in the other player's inventory. This is not true. I cannot stress it enough, duping is not possible.
A player is asking for a trade that requires more than four items, and says that he wants you to give him some items before he offers something of his. The most common trade in this case is a Seer offered for 5 red items. A player may fall for this and trade over 1 red item, and then expect to trade 4 red items for a seer, only to find that no more trades are forthcoming. Be aware of this trick, because it is also very popular.
*****Innocent strategies*****
"Aw man! I'm innocent." Playing as an innocent can be very boring. However, it is the best role to play if you enjoy getting coins. There are different strategies for every role, so here are the ones for playing as an innocent.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[The clueless] Walk around and don't talk. If you see the sheriff or the murderer, get away as soon as possible. If you know the murderers name or gender or color, say them. Possibly be hiding while you do it and give away your position with your chat bubble. Oops.
[The liar] Proclaim to be the Murderer or the Sheriff. This gets you killed pretty fast, but it's a funny troll if the murderer actually thinks you are the sheriff and then gets shot. It's not funny if the sheriff shoots you.
[The dummy] As soon as you know who the sheriff is, follow him like a dog on a one-inch leash. Jump in front of his shots. Don't speak as you approach him. Get shot.
[The trickster] Speak a name in with a frantic panic for no reason other than to trick the sheriff into shooting a person: "brvo", "barvo", "itsbravo".
[The hider] Ignore coins almost completely, and just find a place to die quietly. Most seasoned players know every hiding spot, but in case YOU don't, here is a list.
~~~Hotel -Under the staircase (You die here every time) -Behind the door in the cinema (Possible life extension, possibly a quick death) -Inside the freezer in the kitchen (Good hiding spot, might last the round) -In the closet in the bedroom (Great spot not always checked) -In the dresser in the bedroom (You are stupid. I can see your arm.) -Behind the bed in the bedroom (You are bad at hiding but you might live) -Behind the door in the front lobby (I check that first)
~~~Office2 -Behind the couch (If you can't sit you will die) -In the bathroom (You'll die here, this isn't even a hiding spot) -By the water cooler (You will probably die) -Inside one of the work booths (Unless you hide behind the chair, you die) -Behind the chair in the work booth (You might still die, but just don't move)
Office2 is a death trap.
~~~Hospital -Between the two heart monitors in the corner (Probably die but sometimes not) -In the bathroom (You learned nothing from Office2) -In one of the three patient rooms (Unless the killer is stupid, you die) -In the surgery room (Highly likely to die)
~~~Lab2 -In the jail cells (You might not die, but you probably will) -In any room with one exit (You'll die. Don't do this.) -Behind the boxes (You can be seen through the wall in some spots. Death.)
~~~Mansion -In the bathroom (Might not die, surprisingly) -In the cabinet in the storage room (I stab those every time, probably death) -In the cabinet in the computer room (Easily spotted, probably death) -On the bookshelf (Why do you think this is hiding? Why??) -On top of the light in the storage room (You can actually live here. :D)
~~~House -In the bathroom (Certain death) -In the garage (Death unless you are behind the boxes) -In the laundry room (Death) -Behind the TV (Death right after you say "The killer can't find me") -Behind the bookshelf (Death if the killer comes from the stairs) -Behind the boxes in the closet (Might not die) -Sit under the desk in the bedroom (Hilarious death) -Behind the potted plant (Saw it once, guy died of course)
[The greedy] Ignore everything except coins. COINS. As soon as you fill your bag, adopt the hiding strategy.
[The savior] Start off ass the greedy if you are smart. As soon as you hear the sad sound of gunfire followed by a nasty death sound, attempt to locate the gun. Probably die if you think you can get past the killer if he is puppy guarding. Otherwise, take your best shot and save the day.
[The camper] Should you find the gun, go to a safe spot and camp there. If you are in the jail cell on Lab2, shoot the first person to come in after being frightened, probably die, or maybe be lucky and find out that you shot the murderer.
[The Best Strategy Evar] Grab all coins you see, especially over dead bodies as they don't count towards your bag limit. As soon as you see the killer, run away while hopping and twisting to avoid thrown knives. If you are trapped, check if the murderer is throwing a knife at you. If so, jump over him in a perfectly timed jump to avoid the knife and get around as he can't stab and throw at the same time. If you can hide before this happens, do so, unless you are on Lab2, Hospital, or Mansion, in which case, simply run around until the time runs out.
*****Sheriff strategies*****
[The brave] Immediately pull out your gun, walk around and let people chase you for protection. Get killed by the killer who is laughing at you. Everyone who was following you also dies. Good job! :D
[The trickster] After a few killings, say that someone else is the sheriff. Follow that person, but not closely. When that person gets killed, you can shoot the murderer. It works best when the person you accuse tries to deny it, only further increasing suspicion.
[The greedy] Forget all other players who are depending on you, and instead focus on getting coins. After your bag is full, adopt the camping strategy used by innocent hiders. Also, you are a jerk if you do this.
[The awesome] One shot, one kill, no luck, pure skill. Shoot the killer as soon as you figure out who he is, with one shot. Don't panic like a dork and take more than one. Avoid tracking the killer around corners because you aren't stupid and know that they are just waiting there to stab you in the face.
[The not so awesome] Eight shots, no kill, no luck, no skill. Shoot frantically at the killer as he hops closer. Forget that when he throws his knife you can get close to shoot. Always chase the killer around corners. Shoot people who are innocent but other people say is the killer. Take an arrow to the knee.
[The clown] Randomly shoot someone at the beginning of the match for no reason at all. Die. This strategy will not work for you. Don't do it. It's annoying. Seriously, the odds of this working for you are about 1 in 2048, if the match is full.
*****Murderer strategies*****
[The bloodthirsty] As soon as you spawn, pull out that knife and start stabbin' stuff! :D If you are lucky, you'll kill the sheriff quickly. If not, you'll probably get shot.
[The AFK] ...
[The Non-Thrower] Up close and personal, that's how you do it. Either you don't know how to throw or you accept that you aren't good at it. It doesn't matter, because if you don't also use the ninja strategy you will probably not continue to dodge bullets.
[The ninja] Turn corners, start blinking. Assess the number of players in sight. Determine how close they are to you. Figure out if you can kill them all before anyone says your name or features. Murder them or continue acting like an innocent. Finish blinking.
[The greedy] Forget XP, you just want coins! Wait until you hear less and less people collecting coins, then adopt the bloodthirsty strategy.
[The annoying] Challenge the sheriff to a duel as you pull your knife out, get shot before I can get my coins.
[The trickster] Act like an innocent who has adopted the trickster strategy, in order to double bluff the sheriff and other players. Kill anyone who is alone when you can, and do it by pressing '1', click, '1', so that your knife is hardly even seen by your victim.
[The misfire expert] You know how to play the sheriff. And you do it well. When you see a crowd of people, you go into the middle of them and pull out the knife. Stab one guy. If the sheriff is there, he will try to shoot you. You know this. You act on this. You leap out of the way and take cover behind innocents, and laugh as the sheriff misses you and shoots someone else. You are still laughing as you slaughter the rest of the innocents.
Or you get shot because the sheriff in question happens to be one of the awesome.
*****Tips from trusted players*****
Keelerz: VIP Servers will always work properly. Player5400: Focus on getting coins before trying to win the game. (Name not shown): Don't trade unless you are 100% confident with the trade. (Name not shown): Unless you are the fastest gun in the west, don't [adopt the brave as a sheriff] |
