Hello! I am very new to building, and before building another map I had a few questions (please excuse my lack of appropriate building language):
1. Why do I see most games use the standard baseplate to build upon (a brick) instead of using the terrain tool? Is it a big loading/lag difference and therefore, better to sacrifice appearance for people with slower computers? Or perhaps a deeper reason?
2.How large can you create a map without it start to have loading issues? I notice some of the larger maps it seems to generate items as you come closer to them (ex. ultimate driving game) is this something they have coded in the game to have it load as you come closer?
3.Is it a faux pas in building or create copyright issues to use models built by other people? For instance, you create your own building then use someone else's model of a couch to put in your building. Is this frowned upon in the building community? Of course it's way cooler to create your own stuff, but I am wondering if it is one of a builder's deadly sins. xp
4.I really enjoy building and making beautiful creations, but I don't have a lick of coding experience. I would like to create great maps for games and then perhaps partner up with a coder of sorts if my creations are up to par. Is this a common practice, or am I out of my league? Thanks in advance for your help :) |

1.- Terrain is considered just unprofessional and hated all over roblox.
2.-It's just Graphics Quality in your Pause menu
3.-Free models... If you want to have a cool place for yourself, I'ts OKAY, but if you want to build for others like for example a map, I'ts absolutely NOT okay, it means bad reputation because of plagarism of others work.
4.- No! You don't need to code, don't worry about that, I'm a builder too that doesn't codes.
Hope this helps. |
