If you get someone to script your whole game for you, it's pretty much theirs, not yours

I don't understand why "devs" do this lol. What do you get from paying someone to do something when you could do it yourself.

| People would rather pay than learn. It's sad, but understandable to a certain extent; they have a game idea, but they don't have the know-how to execute said idea in a fashion they would be satisfied with. So, rather than taking the (indefinite) amount of time to learn how, they decide to find someone who already does. |

I think dev groups who do the above are great. As it's very wise to have someone in charge of what's going on it's in entirety. But people who just come on to this forum for services rendered kinda make me laugh.

| I think even the dev groups are flawed. Unless the person in charge is actively contributing some sort of skill (be it design, story, scripting, or even management), it's still just a bunch of people working on a game while one person just doles out payment. |

Although they have no direct input. Disorganisation seems to be the main issue of most Dev groups. So the person in charge who doesn't have extra weight to consider in game development allows better management. Although in reality it's usually just a rich kid with more ego than sense.

| Do "dev" groups even work? I've only heard of one issue (loleris' group), but I expected a lot more. |

It's just a simple way of organising people who work together. Either for more beneficial commercial gain across roblox or simply for internal communications.

Don't get me wrong; I've nothing against the idea of dev groups. It's just that the way they're generally executed is disappointing.
The idea itself is great, a bunch of developers with a common interest banding together and using their individual skills to create a larger project. I think that's really cool. |
