BillboardGui
- ImageLabel for neat looking "abilities" - Is not as great anymore since particle emitters is out
- Creating tags above players, - Custom Healthbar - Player Titles - A gui hovering above players that you can interact with ingame
SurfaceGui is pretty much similar except that you can fit text into a part's surface,
- You can make small "papers" with a message scaled one of the surfaces. - Like billboardGui, you can make interactive GUIs, except this time it's on part surfaces. |

SurfaceGui's can be used to make UIs have a more 3D feel - while other games like ROBLOX Dodgeball have a part sized up with a SurfaceGui holding an image as the background, as a player floats across the screen doing an animation.
BillboardGui's are more frequently used for things such as name tags that float above the head, etc.

Decals & Texture > SurfaceGui if the purpose is to only use Image backgrounds
SurfaceGui > ClickDetectors if the purpose is to make 3D UIs
SurfaceGui > Decal & Textures if the purpose is to stack several image on top of one another |
