ik it limits local script replication but how about regular ol scripts?

Yes, I think if you want to interact with the client (with GUIs) then you'll need a some remote functions/events to trigger the client to do so.

| FE doesn't prevent access to PlayerGui. The GUIs from StarterGui are cloned to PlayerGui from the client making the server unable to see these GUIs because they don't replicate. If a GUI is cloned to PlayerGui from the server, the server can access as well as manipulate it just like without FE. Obviously you should never, was FE on or off, change GUIs from the server. |

| Normal scripts cannot access client only areas such as PlayerGui and they also cannot interact with gui buttons. Theoretically they can, but as Ozzy said it's never a good idea to make GUI through server scripts. They can access server storage, server script service, replicated storage (As it is client and server) and they can access workspace. That's as far as my knowledge goes. |

Changes made by the client to their PlayerGui won't replicate, making the server effectively unable to control guis, but you shouldn't be doing that anyways.
Also, certain events such as Dialog.DialogChoiceSelected don't currently replicate to the server through FilteringEnabled.
