Terrible defense for most of the game, especially in the 4th quarter. We had a 20 point lead at one point but blew that and let the Nets get back in it late. Hope we can work on that.

Jaylen Brown looked pretty good in his NBA debut, Horford looked really good in his Celtics debut, Gerald Green looked good in his Celtics return.

Overall good team game, but hopefully we can improve our defense against the Bulls tomorrow night.

Defense wasn't as bad as it was last night, but it was still pretty bad. Bulls had the lead for 99% of the game, so the fact that the Celtics fought and stuck in the game says a lot about the team. We could have come back, but Brown made a rookie mistake and traveled on a crucial possession late in the 4th. Just a learning curve, but he is looking very impressive so far.

We just couldn't stop Wade or Butler at all. Wade did surprisingly well from 3 (he shot 4-6 from deep), and 3 pointers once again hurt us (they shot 44% from deep). Wade hit a nasty 3 to seal the game.

We face an easier opponent in the Hornets next game. If we can shut down Kemba Walker (unlike we did today with Wade and Butler), I like our chances to win.

Game started off very sloppy (for both sides). Bench was miserable at the start. However, it got itself together down the stretch. We held double digit leads a couple times at the beginning/middle of the game and lost those each time. Gotta be able to keep those leads together. Also, rebounding looked much better in this game compared to the previous two games.

Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas were nothing short of amazing tonight. They're truly looking like a top backcourt in the NBA. Jaylen Brown made some incredible looking shots. Bradley came up huge late with some clutch shots. Jerebko hit a big 3 to make it a 14 point game late. Overall impressed with how the team played late in the game, they're getting better at keeping leads. Came really close to losing the last lead we had too, though.

A win is a win, though, so I'll take it. We play the Chicago Bulls again next week, but this time at TD Garden. Time to get revenge!

The Celtics returned home and defeated the team they lost to last week, and also ended the Bulls' 3 game winning streak. It was an overall good game for the Celtics. I did not start watching much until the 2nd half, but I know we had multiple double digits lead and ended up losing those leads. The Celtics are continuing to struggle to hold leads late in games. We've got to fix that soon because there's no way we can beat top-tier teams like the Cavaliers and Raptors the way we are giving up big leads.

Marcus Smart's return boosted the overall defensive play of the team, it seemed. He also hit a huge bank shot to practically seal the game. I believe he had to fill in at SF due to Jae Crowder suffering a sprained ankle, and he did a very solid job. Isaiah Thomas continues to have a quietly great year. Amir Johnson, who I was growing to dislike in a way because of his little contributions in prior games, stepped up HUGE this game. Including a 16(?) point 3rd quarter which propelled the team to a victory.

Up next is a very tough game for the Celtics, as they travel to Cleveland tomorrow to face the currently undefeated and defending NBA Champion, Cleveland Cavaliers. Hopefully, the team can make a statement against them. What a huge win that would be.

I did not expect a win tonight by any means. Especially without Crowder and Horford. However, the resiliency this team showed was incredible. We were down by 20 points at one point, but we kept fighting. This team not giving up gives me a lot of hope for future games.

Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley were incredible, much like they are almost every night. However, Jaylen Brown was something else tonight. The rookie was tasked with defending one of the greatest players of all time. Although LeBron had a great game, Brown stood his ground and was not scared by The King, and strongly fought for rebounds on multiple occasions. One of the "weaknesses" in his game that everyone talked about was shooting, but he did an amazing job at that tonight. Marcus Smart also did really well off the bench, and he also guarded LeBron James at times and did a nice job.

Unfortunately, our weaknesses showed up yet again. The stats don't show it, but we got dominated on the boards yet again. Tristan Thompson had 10+ rebounds at the end of the first half. We also struggled to prevent them from making 3's, they converted 14 of them, shooting 41%. I really don't see us winning any big games while continuously allowing this, but I'm sure Coach Stevens will find a way to fix these issues.

2 days off then we go back home to play the Denver Nuggets. Hopefully we can get back on the winning track.

I don't have much to say at all about this game. This defense is putrid, and something has to happen or we won't get anywhere near the playoffs (or if we do, get eliminated first around again). The team is stacked with so much talent, but we just can't guard anybody.

Isaiah Thomas showed up as usual. Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart did pretty well. The rest of the team hardly showed up at all. We just gotta learn from this loss and move on to our next game, at the Verizon Center against the Washington Wizards in 3 days.

Same 2 things killed us again. Rebounding (31 rebounds to their 54, including their 19 offensive rebounds to our 7), and 3 point shooting (they shot about 48% from 3). Just our defense in general has been terrible. Through 7 games, we've only had one game holding an opponent to under 100 points. We are quite clearly missing Jae Crowder and Al Horford from the starting lineup.

Avery and Isaiah showed up again, as well as Marcus Smart. Everyone else was pretty much quiet. Olynyk returned tonight and didn't really do much. When your 5'9" point guard is leading your team in rebounding with 6, you're not going to win many games. Just gotta hope that the bigs step up for once while Horford is absent.

Celtics will look to end their 3 game losing skid at home against the New York Knicks on Friday night. Hopefully Horford will be able to return by then.

Well, we finally got another win, and we're back to a .500 record. The team was clearly on point tonight. Started off with a bang and finished with a bang. Although we only shot about 39% from the field, our defense was incredible. We held them to 35% shooting, including 26% from 3 (which is something that's been killing us). We finally held another opponent to less than 100 points as well. We got out-rebounded once again, however, we forced 25 turnovers compared to our 16. Carmelo Anthony getting ejected certainly contributed to our win, but we still fought hard and did a very good job.

It's almost a given Isaiah Thomas will have a good night, which he did yet again. A good deal of players showed up tonight, including Kelly Olynyk in his 2nd game back. 7 total players scored 10 points or more, so the fact that we continue to distribute the ball well bodes well for our future success. We just have to continue to stop teams from shooting 3's, and start rebounding better.

Tomorrow, the Celtics will travel to Indiana to face the Pacers, who are coming off their 5th loss of the season to the now 1-7 𝟩𝟨𝖾𝗋𝗌. (LOL!!!!)

Celtics with another pretty good defensive performance. 1st and 3rd quarters were kinda rough, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the defense in this game. For the first time in forever, we led in rebounding! 47 rebounds to their 40. We held them to about 42% shooting and 22% from deep. Wish we could have made them shoot worse, but in the end, it was enough. Second chance points once again hurt us a good bit. Hopefully we can work on preventing those.

Player of the game tonight might be James Young. He made a bunch of huge plays in his 16 minutes, including a huge 3 at the end of the 3rd quarter and multiple hustle plays. Kelly was great in his 3rd game back, he's clearly providing a huge boost shooting wise. Isaiah didn't shoot too well tonight, but he was great from the free throw line (where he got a majority of his points). The team is starting to play well even without 2 of it's biggest pieces, so I can't wait until Horford and Crowder come back.

Next up, the now 5-4 Boston Celtics will travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans on Monday. It's going to be a tough task to guard Anthony Davis, but I'm hopeful that we can.

Rough loss for the Celtics. We had a pretty good lead at the beginning of the game and got a 1 point lead at the end of the game. We just couldn't hold on to those leads. Defense was okay, it was pretty good in the 4th. We let them shoot 44% from the field so that obviously didn't help our cause. They also got to the line 16 more times than we did. We held them to about 29% from 3, but we only shot 29% from 3 as well. They had the slight advantage in the rebounding department, 46 to 44. We just have to take advantage of games where we hold teams to a reasonable amount of points. We held them to 106 points, but we could have easily shot better than we did and won. Shooting 40% from the field won't make you win many games.

Isaiah Thomas once again had a huge game. He is certainly not the reason we lost with his 37 points and 7 assists. Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart also showed up. Other than that, not really many others did. Jaylen Brown did well in the minutes he received. I'm surprised that Brad Stevens isn't playing Gerald Green more, especially in crunch time situations like it was today. Marcus Smart is a great player, but Gerald Green is a better shooter.

It sucks losing to a 1 win team, but it is what is. I'm confident if we had Crowder and Horford healthy, we would have won. Whatever the case, just have to take the loss and move on. We're still .500 in a very early season, and once 2 of our best players come back, I'm very confident we will win much more often.

Celtics will get the day off tomorrow, then travel back to Boston where they will host the 2-7 Mavericks, who are struggling very much, as evident by their 77 point performance against the Knicks today. Hopefully, Dirk doesn't play!

My internet was out all day yesterday, and the game wasn't on TV, so I missed out on watching it.

Apparently, Isaiah Thomas scored somewhere around 22 points in the 4th quarter. This guy has been carrying the team on his back for this whole season, especially recently with Crowder and Horford being absent. Something that popped out to me: 63 REBOUNDS TO THEIR 38! Something I never thought I would feast my eyes upon. Both teams shot pretty solidly but only scored 90 and 83 points. Somehow we won with 10 more turnovers than them, but we also had 13 more free throw chances and a huge rebound advantage.

Avery and Isaiah both had great games once again. Our 6'2" Shooting Guard is averaging almost 9 rebounds a game. They should be in the talks for one of the best backcourts in the NBA. Isaiah is averaging 27.2 on the young season. He SHOULD be in the MVP talks as a candidate, albeit a sleeper candidate.

Good win, we needed that at home. Somehow we won by scoring only 90 points and committing 19 turnovers, but I'll take it. Next up, Celtics will again get the day off before facing off against the Golden State Warriors at the Garden (thankfully). Maybe we can pull off an upset like we did last year. I don't see us winning if at least one of Horford or Crowder don't play.

It was a pretty close game for the first 2 quarters. We held our own against them. We were losing by 30 at one point, but fought back to make the final score within 16. I love this never give up attitude with this team. Curry actually didn't finish with that good of a game, but of course Klay Thompson started not struggling when he plays us. Klay and Durant put up 28 and 23 respectively, I didn't expect a win simply because I didn't expect to stop them. Well, at least we somewhat stopped Curry and Draymond.

We got out-rebounded once again. Only by 7, but Zaza looked like Dwight or DeAndre against us the way he was rebounding. We just don't have that big guy to grab rebounds. Horford was out for the 9th straight game so obviously that didn't help. Crowder's absence hurt because we couldn't get a bigger body on Durant. They shot 49% to our 37%, not surprised at all that they had a nice shooting game.

The whole team pretty much struggled. Even Isaiah shot 4-12 from the field. Warriors played surprisingly good defense. I was pleasantly surprised with Jaylen and Rozier's play this game. Rozier came in for much of garbage time and did well, same as Jaylen. Avery Bradley once again led us in rebounding.

I like the way the team didn't give up and kept fighting, and stuck with one of the best teams in the NBA for 2 quarters, really just the 3rd quarter that we weren't good. Celtics will travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons tomorrow. I just have a feeling that we're going to get destroyed by Drummond on the boards.

AL HORFORD WITH THE GAME WINNING LAYUP AND BLOCK! His first game back, and he lays it in and then blocks Baynes on the other end to seal the game. Amazing game from him. He clearly gives us a huge boost in everything. We actually only shot 40% to their 43%, but made 5 more free throws. Drummond missing 3 free throws ended up hurting them greatly. They also out-rebounded us, only by 4 though (50-46). They had the advantage in many departments, but free throws ended up the difference maker. I'm also ecstatic that Crowder returned tonight, he's such and underrated player and provides great offense, size, and defense.

A lot of the team did not shoot well today, most notably Isaiah, Smart, and Crowder. Crowder was probably a little rusty, but I expected Isaiah and Smart to shoot better. Isaiah did get 8 points at the line, though. Jerebko was really nice off the bench, he went 3-3 from 3 which gave us momentum in moments we needed most. Horford was clearly the difference maker and MVP of the game. So glad to have him and Crowder back.

Celtics won't play tomorrow, and will continue their short 3 game road trip in Minnesota, taking on the Timberwolves. For some reason they aren't doing too well this year, hopefully we can stop Wiggins and KAT.

What. A. Comeback. It was a close game early, Celtics got as much as a 7 point lead. Then, it got pretty ugly for a while. Timberwolves got a lead as early as 2 minutes left in the 2nd, and had as much as a 15 point lead, including a 13 point lead entering the 4th. But it all fell apart for the Timberwolves in the 4th. They shot 4-22, and actually didn't make a shot until 5:18 left in the quarter. I was aware of Timberwolves doing great in the 1st half and poor in the 2nd half. I did not think it would happen this time, but evidently I was wrong. The Celtics kept fighting, and they actually won.

The Timberwolves were (obviously) doing really well until the 4th, they shot about 50% entering the final quarter. But, the Celtics finished shooting 45% to their 41%, and won even while getting out-rebounded 51-39 (including 16-6 on the offensive boards). I'm not sure how much the defense contributed to the Timberwolves struggles in the 4th, but the defense was really solid for most of the first half and in the 4th quarter. Our defense is clearly improving from early in the season, now we can hopefully get better on the boards.

Isaiah didn't shoot too well, but he still finished with 29 points. Horford's offensive and defensive presence once again showed with his 20 points (and 3 blocks). Rozier was great off the bench. He and Jerebko both hit very important 3's at the beginning of the 4th which jump-started the Celtics comeback. Apparently Crowder and Isaiah both played through pain, props to them for that. Hopefully they can get completely healthy soon.

Celtics won't play tomorrow, and will end their short 3-game road trip Wednesday in Brooklyn against the Nets. They are currently on a 4 game losing streak, hopefully we can extend that to 5 with our now (seemingly) improved defense.

Well, we blew another lead yet again. Celtics had a 17 point lead at one point, but allowed the Nets to tie it up midway through the 3rd. Thankfully, the Celtics would then go on a run and never look back. Another somewhat poor shooting performance for us, only 46%, but our defense was great once again, making them shoot about 40% and forcing 19 turnovers. We actually won the rebounding battle 51-45. We shot a lot of 3's, and actually made about 40% of them (15-38). Overall, I'm really happy that our defense has begun to do much better. I just hope we can avoid blowing leads in the future, because if we did this against the Cavaliers, we'd obviously be screwed.

The Celtics' big 3 had a big night, combining for 65 points. Isaiah didn't shoot too well from the field overall, but he had a great night from behind the arc (5-9). Marcus Smart was incredible this game. He didn't shoot particularly well or score a lot of points, but his defense and passing were pivotal to our win. He is an absolute defensive juggernaut, as well as Bradley (who had 5 steals). Horford had another great night back. Apparently, Crowder is playing with an ankle that's swelling up, so it's great to know he's doing well with an injury and that he's willing to play with said injury. Jerebko was once again incredibly important to our win. Once the Nets caught up, he came off the bench and fueled our run. This is for sure one of the most underrated benches in the NBA.

So, the Celtics win all 3 of their road games, and will take turkey day off before returning home to face the San Antonio Spurs at 1 PM. Very tough challenge, we will see what this team is made of. I'm confident that we can compete with them, and maybe even hand them their first loss on the road.

It was a tough task, but the fact that the team played an elite team this close shows a lot. We jumped out to as much as a 14 point lead, but let them catch up and they took advantage. Like I've said, there's no way we're going anywhere when we let up leads like this. We just get off to hot starts, then get outplayed in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Both teams shot virtually the same, the main disparity was the free throw attempts, they shot 25 to our 9. The officiating was questionable throughout the game for sure, they got many more foul calls than the Celtics did when some were blatantly obvious against the Celtics. Nonetheless, can't blame the loss on the officials when we also got out-rebounded 45-36 (it felt more like 45-20). The Spurs bench just played great today, combining for 56 points. David Lee was great for them, getting 15 points and 12 boards in 18 minutes. It felt like Bertans and Mills never missed a shot. It's frustrating seeing the team get beaten on the boards almost every single game.

Our Big 3 (or 4) was great once again. Crowder, Horford, and Bradley all shot well. Isaiah continues to shoot somewhat poorly but still manages to be our leading scorer. The bench just got tremendously outplayed, and that was probably the biggest difference. We only got 30 bench points compared to their 56. Kelly, Marcus, and Jerebko did very well though. Defensively, the team was great for the first half, then kinda slacked off in the second half. We're struggling to play all 48 minutes, as evident by our hot starts and cold finishes.

Jerebko has been great for us off the bench, and I'm hoping he eventually gets a shot in the starting lineup. Amir is a solid player, but at this point, I think Jerebko would be a better option as the starting PF, or at least the better option of receiving the most minutes there.

Rough loss, but I'm happy that we played the Spurs this close. The Celtics will get 2 days off before traveling to Miami to face the Heat on Monday. They're struggling greatly without Dwyane Wade, so hopefully we can take advantage of their struggles and start a new winning streak.

We played this game without Al Horford, who was out to spend time with his wife and newborn child. The Heat got off to a 5-0 start, and it was really a neck and neck game until early in the 2nd, where the Celtics would pull away and never look back. The defense did very well for the first half, holding them to 31 points, then kinda fell apart in the 3rd and 4th when they let the Heat put up 42 and 31 respectively. We got out-rebounded yet again but shot really well, 48% from the field and 40% from deep.

Isaiah, Avery, and Crowder (obviously) did very well, although Isaiah had a somewhat poor shooting game once again. I wish he would drive to the basket more instead of jump shooting because he's much better when driving to the basket, regardless of his size. Zeller did very solidly in Horford's absence. Jerebko was perfect shooting wise, I really wish he would shoot more. He ended up with more minutes than Amir, so that's good. Rozier is another person that I wish would shoot more. He can shoot it really well, but takes a small amount of attempts per game. Olynyk shot very well, and Smart was a defensive juggernaut yet again.

Glad we could pull out the win, hopefully the defense can start completing games. Next up, The Celtics will go back home to face the Detroit Pistons again on Wednesday. I'm pretty sure Horford will be back, and we'll definitely need him against Andre Drummond. Hopefully Reggie Jackson doesn't play again! Pistons seem to be missing him very much.
