At the moment I really don't have anything listed except gift cards and money.
Should I ask for a New Nintendo 3DS XL for Christmas then? Also, don't they have customizable faceplates? And what color should I ask for if I do decide to ask for one?

so from what I can tell XL only has covers that will go over the entire thing, not screw-ins like the normal size

N3DS XL doesn't have traditional faceplates, at least none from Nintendo that I'm aware of.
N3DS has faceplates, and these don't require screws for the top faceplate. The top faceplate is removed using a hook on your stylus. The bottom faceplate requires a screwdriver and is how you access the Micro SD card as well. |

@Gao
Yeah that's what I can tell. I think the only things you can get to cover your XL are rubbery covers that will bend with it.
So do you recommend getting the normal one?

I don't have one, so I can't speak for it.
I personally keep a 3DS because I like that it can fit in your pocket, which I don't think the New 3DS/New 3DS XL can or at least not as easily.
However, if you're someone who prefers the wider system or screen, I would go with a 3DS XL or N3DS XL.
As for someone like me who doesn't want that and/or wants a cheaper system, I'd go with the 3DS/N3DS. (Or if you really want faceplates and don't want to use skins/cases/etc, N3DS for sure.) |
