Participation score is a great motivator for the creator of a place, this is fact. I don't even want to think of ways to tarnish my games with PayToWin features
That's just not the type of gamer I am And this is how the pyramid scheme works
Roblox | Creators | Roblox | Users
The users pay roblox for robux The users spend robux on games (pay to developer) roblox takes a cut (HUGE if NBC, like 90%) dev decides to 'cash-out' (must have most-expensive membership)
So they must pay Roblox to even start the process (which most likely wouldn't be a lot) THEN, they must decide to buy something in YOUR game (which most likely won't happen) and then Roblox takes a cut of that (low if you're BC, 90% if you're non 'premium')
So, there is still profit to be made on Roblox, but only if you work for the company! There is very little to be made profitably.
I think they should 'revamp' the TIX system and make it not exploitable, and as for inflation, all the Robux and TIX that are paid to the user ROBLOX, can just be erased, like they never existed. And that would cut it down A LOT And as for exploits to get TIX all you have to do is watch the IP that is joining the game (from the PC, not the browser) and only allow 1 TIX to be generated by an IP on one game in one non-consecutive day after day.
What Roblox is doing is taking the reward out of building THEIR games and yes, your games are owned in full rights to none other than ROBLOX CORP
What they are doing is getting kids and teens to build the largest 3-d games library and charge the hell out of them for their free labor. That may sound extreme, but that's the premise of how the system works
What they SHOULD DO (for the better of their users) is sell a lot of Ad space, give a participation score, sell BC for some features (SOME NOT ALL) and just allow their users to get some kind of reward for all the hard work they put into their projects (and believe me, it can be RIGOROUS!) And a big de-motivator for me is the fact I will get NOTHING out of it. Odds are, I will NOT have a front-page game, and those that DO find my game, will probably NOT have Robux, and those that DO, will probably NOT spend them on Gamepasses/Dev products. It's just an impossible system that flow all of YOUR hard time and work into THEIR pocket. And it depresses me, actually, because I LOVED getting on Studio and thinking 'I wonder how many people would play this?' instead of 'I gotta think of pay-to-win features to keep this thing afloat'.

As for the 'inflation' problem. It's SIMPLE
Every TIX and R$ given to the user ROBLOX is instantly destroyed, making every purchase positive to the economy in every way
Do the math: 10K Users log in 100K TIX generated that day *new hat for 100TIX 2.5K buys in 1 day -250K TIX from existance (MORE THAN WERE GENERATED IN THAT DAY) And most to all of the purchases go to ROBLOX (the user) so a purchase would do nothing but help the economy, and the participation score would do nothing but attract more developers!
Come on Roblox, get it together! Think about the bigger picture here! |
